Looks like you had some warm days crusting up the snow. Nice stove, we always left our camp with wood and kindling just incase someone needed to use it. Had a sign on the outhouse 25 cents as a joke, was amazed how many quarters in the can.

Hi ya Jeremy! It sure is beautiful out there, a lot of oklahomans freak out with less than a foot Lol, the more the merrier for me, I love snow! Would it be worth it to attach some sort of rod to the vent pipe making it visible??? Even if u didn’t have the grill, I bet u’d have made a fire if u didn’t have the grill! They sure did look tasty! Hopefully one day I’ll find a pine around here to make a tea. Enjoyed the video!!! Thank u

I don't often visit the cabin in the winter, though I plan to in future years. The solution might just be to add a chimney extension so it stays up above the snowline.
@joybickerstaff1946 жыл бұрын
One Wildcrafter a chimney extension makes more sense than my idea, I would have suggested that if I’d have known of their existence Lol. Have a wonderful day

I have always wondered why the roof designs of scandinavia where so highly pitched and never thought of snow pressure to the roof and when the snow gets too heavy it would simply pull itself away from the roof surface. Another point regarding the chimney episode. If you extended the stack and placed a cowling onto it ( to prevent the snow from ingress ) , this would make your stay a tad more restful . Loved this video and watched. subbed for some time now. Looking forward to your next one. Kind regards.

Thanks, Tony. The camp also needs some additional insulation to make it more comfortable in the winter!

I went ice fishing one day it was 20 something below but the wind was howling and it felt much colder! I didn’t have a scarf to cover my face and I had to turn back. I couldn’t make it to the ice shack!! I had ice cream headache from the wind!

4500 calories burned? how much of that did the burgers and tea bring back?
@OneWildcrafter6 жыл бұрын
About 1400, + 200-300 from the maple syrup maybe. But I had a really nice Valentine's supper with Delphanie afterwards that helped top me up. It was a calorie deficit day though, for sure.

Awesome! Thats the same maple syrup I use. Its cheaper than some of the other brands. but still really good. P.S I dont really consider it too much of a cheat since it was harvested from the wild in Canada. just maybe not by you :P hahah

What did you use for a binding agent as your not using eggs? Was it fish roe

No binding agent on this one. I think we just mixed it up with a bit of leeks and maybe a touch of acorn flour.

hello Jeremy, i live in southern Ontario about 30 mins from Toronto. I have never had bear and wondered if by chance you are aware of anywhere reputable near me that i might be able to purchase wild game including bear. any help would be appreciated. if not, thanks for reading this and for your content i really enjoy. cheers
@OneWildcrafter6 жыл бұрын
It isn't legal generally legal to sell wild game meat in Ontario. However, if you contact a Fish and Game club or a Rod and Gun club (check OFAH, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, for a listing of clubs) they sometimes host wild game feasts as fundraisers. If you are in the GTA that might be your best bet.

Fitbit stats are interesting to see. 30k steps is roughly equivalent to 15 miles, not even counting wearing snowshoes and pulling a sled. Guessing you burned more calories than it said.

Yes, but a lot of those "steps" were from pulling snow down off the roof.

I didn't want to add my weight to the weight of all the snow. And then, when I did get enough snow off - well, I was on a roll and just kept using the rake.
