I’m very based on lore when I pick my faction, as I base my gameplay and raid style off of whatever kind of soldier I’m roleplaying that wipe.. if you read the book predator and you also really deep dive into the lore, there really is no good faction.. The closest to the “good guys” would be bears. Since they were created in secret, and illegally to go to Tarkov and deal with terragroup and figure out what they are doing. USEC on the other hand are shady guns for hire, that are broke into sectors and whom mostly are unaware of Terragroups objectives. If you watch the live action series BSG created, you see that the main USEC character betrays Terralabs after he finds out they were having some sectors within USEC killing civilians and committing war crimes. So long story short you play as an ex-Russian PMC trying to protect the motherland and bring TerraLabs to justice and ended up abandoned by their government since they are supposed to not exist.. Or you play as one of the few USEC members that decided to go rouge and turn their back on Terragroup and try to expose them for the horrible experiments and other things they are doing. There is no real “good” guys. Just a bunch of guns for hire.. which is what PMCs are ..
