Awesome, gorgeous hike Hillbilly, plus really cool to revisit your first meeting place. You guys have really bonded since then, so fun to watch. But really... Dobbin Grade claims another one? :)

Great video, thanks for posting. I was up at the sods with a buddy the weekend before you for a nice 2 night three day. Now you have me interested in the Roaring Plains section. Nice route and views!

Oops I didn’t finish watching video. He is buried up behind Seneca Rocks. Thx so much for the video.

I've been thinking about a similar route... Utilizing the Roaring plains pipeline, Dolly Sods to Spruce knob.

A route that would hook you up from DSW to Seneca Creek Backcountry/Spruce Knob would be fantastic!

It could be done. Using the route in my video, but turning right on Rt.33 instead of left toward Seneca Rocks. Walk toward Whites Run Rd. (I believe) and get on the Allegheny Mountain Trail. That would put you into Seneca Creek Backcountry and eventually Spruce Knob

Hike up brush creek all way to spruce knob that would be a fun hike

Great content, got a new subscriber. Like that a lot of your hikes seem more local to me. Have never gone backpacking, just car camping, but recently fascinated by it. Based out of northern va(like right outside DC), are there are single overnighters/trails you'd recommend within 2-3 hours of Northern VA? Longest hike I've done is Old Rag which was totally fine, so wouldn't mind up to like a 12 mile roundtrip overnight(would eventually like to do 2-3 nights but trying to get some friends into it as well for now). Have been to shenandoah national park multiple times, but only to drive Skyline Drive lol. I know there are quite a few trips I can do in there, any specific trails notable?

Nicholson Hollow area in Shenandoah National Park is a great place to start! Thats where I first started. Very close to old rag. Huge network of trails with tons to see and lots of good campsites 👍

Absolutely outstanding video!! Kudos to your research and planning; obviously you were on point. Videography and editing also on point. I would love to backpack this route in the near future. Thank you for sharing this trip and your friends seem pretty cool. What is your adult beverage of choice while backpacking?
