I'm with you on the wet gravy thing. Nonhomogeneous textures and flavors are important to me in food. It's my biggest grip with a lot of trail foods and your recipes are great at addressing this. I really like this meal plan format. Great way to tie things together and show how your recipes work in the field. Awesome job!

Love this! Not just some food but the realistic aspects like what you'd do differently, what did or didn't work, etc. Got a hike coming up where I'll be cooking for a few people so this was good review & ideas before doing another dive through your cookbooks.

You can deter bears from entering camp sites with a portable electric bear fence. Small kit that brings huge peace of mind.

this is great! One of my biggest struggles is trying to get more variety while being confined to the space of a BV 500. Great recipes!

Wow, these look amazing! I've never taken the fresh veggies and I'm thrilled by how fresh they look after 2-3 days. This will definitely be an addition to my backpacking meal plan this summer! Thanks Chef!

Wish you would bring the music down and/or bring the spoken sections up. The difference between the two makes it jarring and painful to watch with headphones. Otherwise good content.

Great video Chef! May I ask what container you use to store liquid seasoning? I mean the long, glass (or plastic?) cylinder bottles w/ white lids? They don't seem to leak at all. I'd like to know where to get these.

most of my bottles are just repurposed 2-8oz juice bottles. 5 hour energy bottles work great too. Walk around the grocery store and you'll find a lot of shapes and sizes available.

Impressed with how long the veggies lasted - plan to experiment with that. Your cooking sections go too fast, great for ideas but hard to follow more closely. Nice video

Hi Chef Corso n I luv this series. How much water do u bring with you? Do u carry other knives? Do u do pizza with tortillas? Do you have quick desserts for the trail? THKS Roxanne
@ChefCorso
@ChefCorso 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Roxanne! Re water: It depends on 3 factors: 1. trail conditions: It’s good to know how much water you need personally. 2. what you’re cooking: Soups will take more water than other recipes. 3. If you have consistent water sources along your route: Always good to research before you go and you may be able to carry less each day. Re knives: yes, check out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGnNiXpnqsmYkLc Re pizza: yep, although I don’t do it often Re dessert: yes, a lot! Check out the recipe bank on the website.

@@joakorey the stash actually has a different and IMO better burner than their chimney stoves and the squatty pot is more helpful for cooking more recipes

debating on a cook system , MSR Pocket rocket 2 , JETBOIL Minimo ? help plz I see you still try to hold pan for stability or move it so its evenly heated so is a non locked system better?
@ChefCorso
@ChefCorso 2 жыл бұрын
The minimo squatty pot is nice, but I don't love the jetboil burner. PR2 is great but doesn't have much pot/pan integration, which can be helpful. I would be for PR2 so you can have a couple styles of pots, but just make sure to hold your pot every time with pan grippers/tongs.
English or Spanish 🤣
