My favorite way to elevate just about any noodle packet dish is to start with some aromatics. Add a little oil to the pot. Heat fresh garlic, green onion whites, ginger root, etc until slightly brown, then add the liquid. It only takes a minute, but the flavor is so much better.

Simply just add gelatin it'll fool anyone into thinking the broth had been stewing for hours. I tend to take a mini jam jar with soy, hoison and rice wine vinegar then I throw in chilli, garlic and ginger then whatever else I can forage or grab from a local store on the way in

I brought some of the spicy Szechuan packets on my recent thru hike of the Oregon Coast Trail and they were awesome! Powdered soy sauce, dehydrated eggs, and peanut butter powder were all useful ramen additions too, and I loved adding a green pepper, some green onion, and/or some aidell's sausage (browned in the pan first, of course). Thanks for helping make my trail meals more interesting, chef!

I've been loving to add dried onions(also really cheap at the asian grocery store). Also tried the dried nasi/bami vegetable mix. Bit it's to much cabbage in my flavour and has you chewing forever. I've found some dried muahrooms from the asian grocery store tasting quite old and musty. But i need some more practise in choosing the right brand or type of mushroom i guess!

I like the Nissin Chow Mein Teriyaki Chicken that has the dry seasoning packet you put in while it is cooking and then the sauce packet you add in after it is finished cooking. These come in the plastic bowls designed for microwave use but you can cook the noodles in a pot just like any other Ramen. They cost a few cents more than the base Ramen packs but honestly taste a lot better.

Chef C: MSG, even in minute amounts, causes allergic reactions. I do, however like those curly noodles in the packet. Perhaps you may provide some alternative ingredients that do not have either salt, sugar or even trace amts of bad-for-me- MSG. Thanks!
@ChefCorso9 ай бұрын
yes, it can cause issues for some people. But my comment is that is not as bad as people think. If MSG is not for you, you can just add Szechuan peppercorn powder, Chinese red chili, garlic powder
