This guy was underestimating this huge bear. Firstly a bear can run up to 40 miles per hour or about 70 kilometers per hour. if the bear suddenly charged, firstly the guy would have been startled and in "panic mode" and not reacted properly or quickly enough. If that engine didn't start after the first kick -- no chance the guy escapes. He also would have lost 1 or 2 seconds getting the bike turned around. Very very risky. If he had the motor running, and the bike turned around he likely would have had lots of time to get away.

All jokes aside, they say, when a Bear, looks at you, once or twice, not alarming..but if it looks at you a third or 4th time, it's really interested...that is not a good thing. 🤷 I feel, if a 🐻 looks at you that many times, it's sizing you up...but, what do I know?

I stopped hunting because nowadays its just too dangerous with the weekend warriors. Most of them are in more danger from each other than the Bears. The speed and power are literally breathtaking. The bear was giving you trail etiquette by staying at the side, and patiently waiting for you to pass. It acknowledged you where there by giving you looks, but never squared up, growled or did any sort of gesture to signal an issue with your presence or any interest of eating you. Moreover the bears signaled it was relaxed, content, and totally un-bothered by you. If those signals did not change while you move forward, you had nothing to worry about. Bears don't hide their intent or emotions. That's one of the cutest Grizzlies I've ever seen.

This must be the cutest, most patient bear ever. I agree with everyone that you should have turned around: if the bear felt threatened or that you invaded his /her space, it would not have ended well for you or bear, since it's the Bears who always pay for humans' stupidity. That bear was peacefully enjoying fresh greens (they are omnivores, eating more plant based food and insect larvae).

Cute is a horribly deceptive, and naive lens to see this animal through. We can learn from what happened to Timothy Treadwell. .. These are wild animals, and shouldn't become used to people. They are not play toys, they arent there for your admiration ..
@monah55323 жыл бұрын
@@clairvoyantamnesiac9770 Please relax. I fully appreciate this is a wild animal, I am an avid leave-no-trace wilderness camper and my food is ALWAYS suspended from a tree at least 100 feet away. Over the years I have been very fortunate to observe them undisturbed at the water's edge from a distance from a canoe or kayak. A fed or harassed bear is a dead bear, and I wish the very, very worst to anyone who feeds or interferes with them. That does NOT preclude me from admiring them: Beautiful, powerful, surprisingly peaceful creatures.
