I just upgraded both my bearded dragons to 4 ×2×2 ,and my leopard gecko to a 40 gal.breeder..I see now that we have been keeping our reptiles in way too small enclosures..my reptiles are now running and jumping, more active and dont surf the glass anymore..love my zen habitats ,and zen mats!!!💓

I completely agree!!! It almost seems insane that we once kept them in such small enclosures. Upgrades are so enriching for them ❤️

The one at 11:45 is set up so well! It looks so natural and provides so many levels and places for the dragon to explore. I had to screenshot that to use as inspiration for my dragon's new enclosure

Thanks for the love girl! My dragon's setup is in fact bioactive with the Terra Sahara substrate from The Bio Dude. 🙂

The zen habitats look awesome but are so expensive, especially here in canada. Just 1 enclosure is $600. Not including the stand or anything.

Yeah me and my father ended up DIYing a wooden one for my beardie. Works really well for her but won't work for anything that requires a humid environment unfortunately.

If you're interested in how to make one Emma lyne Sampsons video on it is very well done. Not as pretty as a zen but a hell of a lot cheaper

I know this video is from October 2020 but I am getting a zen habitat for my bearded dragon. I order it in late February it should arrive any day now. I wish order the mat now. Bioactive does sound hard. I need to do more research on it. Thanks for the video

Personally I say viff bc I pronounce it veevarium probably again a case of which side of the pond you're looking at 😉 you also really seem to enjoy your job at Zen which is awesome! I've always wondered how reptiles can be so comfortable lying on substrate and hard stuff with their soft bellies. Sometimes my boa slept in shoes therefore she now has the option inside and outside of her viv. Does dude now accept the bed or is he still skeptical btw?
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
I always wonder the same thing too! Dude didn’t use it on his own. I placed him in it though and she slept in it all night and seems to really be enjoying it! ❤️

At 15:55 that actually looks more like a dehumidifier, than a humidifier and that would make more sense to have in a beardie's enclosure, if where you live it's too humid. I guess.

Just out of curiosity, would you recommend putting a baby straight into a 4x2x2? Or waiting until they're a bit bigger?
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
You can put a baby in a large setup! They grow quickly and aren’t stressed out by space, they utilize it! Just fill it out with a lot of fun things to climb on and you’ll have a happy baby! ❤️

I got a question do you need live plants to call an enclosure a bioactive one because I have two fake plants or can you just use substrate?
@ronaldmcdonald48394 жыл бұрын
I want a bearded dragon I had one but she died from impaction because it was my mothers and she always followed the petstores rules even though I told her but I’m also afraid of a light falling over because I have the worst luck
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
A lamp falling over shouldn’t be much of a worry unless you have a cat or wild dogs bouncing around. With the zen habitats you can mount the light inside the enclosure, so that could reduce some stress 💕
@ronaldmcdonald48394 жыл бұрын
Reptilian Garden ooh I never new that about zen enclosure sand yes I have a cat he’s a cat that gets along with my reptiles a lot I have a pink tongue skink and a monitor that he gets along with but yes I do watch them they kind of just stare at each other and I think it’s cute I always leave my cat on a harness/leash to make sure he doesn’t attack them

And the ones I have so have a lamp/UVB but I believe it’s built in or there’s a cover

Just wanted to ask you something...Is it Trisha? Tricia? None of them? I hate not saying peoples name correctly! The bed is adorable! Just one thing; since its made of cloth if it gets soiled it can retain bacteria. Though I’m sure you already know as you usually mention it! Just in case :)
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
It’s Tricia! And thank you! I think I’m only going to put it in the enclosure at night time when he sleeps

I've been saving up for a zen habitat but I don't know if I should get the wood one or the pvc one. Which would be better for my beardie?
@tirzah99294 жыл бұрын
Wood is perfectly fine for a low humidity animal like a beardie! If you ever wanted the enclosure to be flexible for another animal that requires a humidity over 50% get pvc!
@meg28314 жыл бұрын
@@tirzah9929 thanks, I'm really excited about getting a zen habitat i was just never sure before if one was better than the other. 😁 I appreciate the info.
@babyjinx41304 жыл бұрын
You dont need the PVC but it might last longer .
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
The pvc is mainly for high humidity animals or if you plan to use a heat pad. Since beardies have a low humidity requirement and usually use heat bulbs, a wood enclosure is the perfect option for them! ❤️

120 gallons 🤨 I think a 40 gallon is ok and a good size to go for is 70 gallon and if you wanna go the extra mile then do a 100 gallon . But the minimum a hundred gallon ?? I don’t think so
@apetloverslife57993 жыл бұрын
@Molly Asmussen a bearded dragon won’t spend its entire life in the tank it will be handled or walked or etc. so they will walk as much as they would in the wild just not 247 . Kinda like humans most of us have small rooms but we walk way more steps then that room could have the room to hold .But we still live in our rooms perfectly fine and walk a lot . So I think it really depends on the person the time the person has and the space the person has . It’s very debatable

@MrRusty134 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but 95% of these enclosures are way too small. And many of those lack an adequate (UV) light installation.
