I'm so tickled to see that Schreiners is putting photo labels on their iris!! How helpful is that? I've got an order coming and I'll be making those labels into little plant stakes. I love Bearded Iris too! Im in Central Texas, and they can really take the heat down here! They end up growing wild around here, especially if someone moves away & and nobody waters them. They really don't care if they're not being tajen care of! Actually, I think they prefer to NOT be fussed over. One of the things about them is if their tuber gets covered over with leaf litter, or soil, they just won't bloom. They'll still grow! But they just refuse to bloom until their "backs" as I call them, are soaking up the sun.

Ok, the bloopers were fantastic 😂 My mom planted I don't know how many Iris here. Unfortunately I didn't realize how much sun they like, a mulberry tree grew so big, the Iris were shaded for yrs. I did move some to another garden, more to move yet. Funny thing, I have one peach one blooming now.

While I am not a fan of bearded iris, I have plenty of Siberian irises. I'll be dividing them soon and sharing extras with neighbors who pass by my street. That one variety you didn't know why you ordered it...maybe it was for ME! 😊 I do like that punch of color among a sea of blue shades (agastache 'Blue Fortune', delphinium 'Dasante Blue', nepeta 'Junior Walkers', Veronica 'sunny border blue', liatris, cranesbill 'Rozanne'). I don't want to wish my life away, but I can't wait until next year after my plants have been in their new home for a while. 😊

I ordered from Schreiners last year and am so impressed with the plants. Not all of them bloomed in the spring but that was probably due to owner error! The young man that helps me with the gardening covered them all over with mulch in the fall and I didn't realize that until the spring. Right now I am thrilled with the repeat bloomers, what a treat. I will be ordering more from them so thank you for jogging my memory.

I love Iris. I need to divide some of mine so this video came out perfectly timed for me. I find that Iris can take a beating and still bloom wonderfully. I had some that I didn’t get planted one year, they were just laying on the ground and low and behold they survived the winter plus bloomed the next year. 🌸💚🙃

I LOVE bearded iris!! I have a stand of them that is in serious need of dividing. Not sure what variety, they came from granny’s garden and they are gorgeous! I’m in coastal NC zone 8a. When would you suggest I lift and divide them? I was going to do it this fall but I’m not sure when the best time is. Thanks Yuliya!!

Those iris rhizomes looked , good when they arrived , you picked gorgeous varieties . One question about something else, my Mojito elephant ear that I grew from a corn came up and had several leaves and all of a sudden one by one they got yellow until nothing was left. I lifted the bulb washed it and dried it and I’m going to start again. Do you have any idea what went wrong ? I had it growing in a pot

I'm CRAZY for bearded iris! I'm in zone 7b-8a and we divide our iris in October. Thank the Lord because it's so much cooler than our summer temps of 90 degrees and 90% humidity. I'm dividing and enlarging my patch again next year, hmmmm. Maybe a good time to think about some of those divine back iris?

I love your videos and have faith in your judgement. However, I'm confused that you said iris bloom late May early June. Iris bloom in my area (zone 6b) near Mother's Day. In fact, they have lately been blooming before Mother's Day bc of climate change. I believe you are in a similar zone as me. I wonder if you had ordered late blooming iris or perhaps longer blooming ones? They usually are done blooming for me by the end of May.

At presby iris garden I mentioned some irises start blooming mid may with other varieties way into June. There are other varieties that bloom even later 😊
