I love it when the Florida folks say " the water is a little dirty today". Meanwhile us Texas folk going " damn that water looks so good!"

Same in Louisiana. The marshes around New Orleans are truly the Sportsman's Paradise. You can catch reds, specks, flounder, bass and sac au lait (crappie) in the same spot, on the same lure. We use the popping cork with 1/16 ounce Deathgrip jighead and Matrix Shad soft bait. My favorite is the Holey Joely. Pop the cork every 10 to 15 seconds.

I've been to Sanibel Island many times and the best way to catch snook (in my opinion) is to go to the wildlife refuge at low tide, wade out on the flats in the evening, and start throwing topwater lures (I use spooks). I caught my pb this way.

That area from 5:30 on is my favorite place to kayak fish. Caught my top 2 PB snook there. Haven't been there since 2022 because of the hurricane but I hope to get there next year!

One small tip if you read these... when you retrieve you fly like put the tip of fly rod close to the water, fly rods have a lot of flex so most fish will be able to take the fly and shake the hook before you get a chance to actually set the hook. Also don't trout set look up how to strip set that's the standard for salt water fish

Hey Brad. I enjoy you're vids, particularly how sweet you are fishing with your little boy and the whole crew in the catch and cook episodes in your kitchen. I really appreciate good daddies. Looks like you are one. Now to the fishing. I've fished the Blind Pass bridge a lot over the years. When my son was young we tried to stay 1 week in the summer on Sanibel and fished the beaches and Blind Pass on foot. Ive caught more snook, faster, at Blind pass than anywhere in South Florida. Here's the "secret". Fish the up current side on an outgoing tide using chrome with blue back rattle traps on light tackle. 10lb mono with 30lb floro leader. We would arrive in the afternoon and fish while mom was over on the beach taking sunset pics.It was often nonstop fish until the sun set. had 3 rods rigged the same way and my boy fished and when he landed the snook I'd grab the rod and he'd grab another one and hook another snook while I unhooked the one he just caught. It was so fast that I frequently had a snook in one hand. A rod with another shook laying at my feet and my boy trying to hand me the 3rd rod with snook attached. Your kids would love it I bet.

That was no big ladyfish! About 5 July's ago my son and I caught a bunch of 5-7 pounders! I'd never seen them anywhere near that big. They were eating 6-7" mullet we had out for reds. We got in the middle of a bull red feeding frenzy on that trip, too. Not one under 30"!

Thank you Chris for pronouncing sheepshead correctly. The second "s" is silent. When you pass a field and there are animals saying "bah bah bah' do you say look at all those sheeps out there. Or, look at all of those sheep? Snook on a fly rod? Good job, Brad!
