$135 a day for a cart is wild. I'm from Birmingham and leaving for Gulf Shores in a few days and thought, man I should rent one while I'm there instead of bringing my gear. Then I saw the price. Not knocking you brother. Do what you got to do

Howdy Mathew, I looked at your website for a job but they appear to all be in Utah. I am interested in your store location in Alabama as I am an avid outdoorsman and inventor of outdoor gear. Would it be possible to talk about possible opportunities? Former C Level executive and Business Development Consultant now retired.

Well Done Matthew... spring is a comin. Thanks for the content. My best day pier fishing was when the waves were crashing and spraying all over Sebastien Inlet. The Jetty pier can turn into a zoo of people, but no one there that day, caught 2 black drum and Jacks till I was too tired to fish.

Fish the first trough close to the beach, whiting should be abundant with a good chance at a red or black drum!

A trick I learned about keeping moisture off the lens is to lick the screen and then dunk it in some water! Saw that tip from some extreme sports kayakers who do bmx style white water kayaking and the difference between a licked lens and a non licked lens is night and day!

nice vid.. one suggestion on making sure you don't fog up the camera lens is to use that rain-x anti fog used for the inside of cars winshields. it should help reduce if not stop the fogging of the lens

Thanks!
@megamattoutdoors45909 ай бұрын
Great suggestion, but I would recommend anti fog that is used for scuba diving masks. I use it on my camera lens ,scuba masks and my wife uses it on her glasses. Works way better. Easy to find at any diving shop.

you are lucky to be getting such large whiting! Most that we were catching on PINS in texas were 6-9 inches long typically. Make great shark bait whole, or good bull red bait cut up in chunks. But...at 12-14 inches long, I think id be cutting them into fillets for taking home...LOL Id say you were right....that was a decent shark.
@keithcard17769 ай бұрын
Did you use the head? Or did you fillet the body, or cut it into chunks? Didn’t catch you hooking it on the rig?
@BamaBeachBum9 ай бұрын
Yeah I had to cut that part out because the wind was so bad in the mic. I just used the head.
@keithcard17769 ай бұрын
@@BamaBeachBum I think you had a bonnet head, or Atlantic sharp nose. Seen a few come up on the Russel / Fields pier recently. Tight lines bother👍

I would lay good money on that being a BIG ray. My biggest was a 5’4” Butterfly ray and the take was just like that. 400 yards on the first run. 3 1/2 hour fight.

Now you tell me! I’ve just purchased and put together a cart, stripped by heavy equipment of their line and replaced it (last used in 1986… live in Florida coast)…. And replaced one of my boat rods that had been damaged. The only thing I have not done is by the real that was stolen by the Shimano employees, when I was fishing in the Colorado river. They went into my trailer and took my 1980 Shimano Spincast real off my rod and put a low-end Diawa conventional reel. It was filthy, and when I opened it, it was equally dirty on the inside and Rusty or some thing that went clean pits. To say the least I’m pissed. It has nothing to do with today. I need to find a good real for that rod. However, I will keep you in mind if I missed something. Since I’ll only be in Florida, maybe once every two years from now I wish to keep my investments in line. ( there was several cars with all Shimano employees, by the time I returned to my trailer after fishing, I noted the swap… I immediately ran outside, and their cars were gone. I wrote Shimano about the dishonesty of some of their employees, they totally didn’t care)

Matthew that was definitely a shark. From the way it was head shaking you can tell. Rays don't head shake or jolt. Idk how long the leader was but he probably tail whipped the braid.

I’m from the UP of MI by Lake Superior, going to be fishing from shore down near St. Petersburg/Tampa for a couple weeks the end of March early April. I’ve only ever fished the bayous and channels in Alabama when I lived there for trout and reds. I’d like to catch something different, pompanos or anything really. Does anybody have any suggestions on what to target and focus on that time of year?

honestly the mouth of whiting reminds me of the scavenger trash fish from fresh water like suckers and carp. are whiting "trash fish"?
@stothal9 ай бұрын
for that matter, given the appearance of their mouths, are Drum scavenger/trash fish? just curious, not critical. never fished east coast salt fish
@lukebutler32999 ай бұрын
In my experience frozen shrimp worked just as good as fresh the only difference is its a little softer but this "fish want fresh bait" thing is a myth.
