I really love these HACS videos you have done over the last couple months. I have implemented almost every single one of them. Keep them coming.

Yeah, I'm on a Pi 4 and I definitely need to upgrade my system. Thinking about switching to a PC running Proxmox, but I'm scared of breaking everything I have setup already. If you have a video on this subject, please link it. Would love a detailed video if you don't.

Don't know if you know, but the HACS Experimental mode interface will soon be the default. No definite schedule, but the estimate and goal from the developer is end of Q1. It is about 90% now needing a couple of backend tweaks, but I have not noticed any issues at all. I bring this up because you may want to vid using it, and suggest people click the box and use the new interface to be on the front of the curve. Also because this is the only place you can see the templates (custom templates) in HACS. I have a couple of those you might want to look at, but there are others as well and these do a bunch of complicated template code that suddenly is an easy button for the user.

Thank you!!! I only have it running in experimental mode on one instance! But nice tip - wanted also to do overall video on HACS - good and bad sides of it etc. So this is really a great tip! Thank you!!!

I accidentally turned experimental interface on and then found it really difficult to turn it off. It just got stuck in experimental mode and took quite a bit of time with google to find out how to resolve this. I didn’t like experimental mode at all, no obvious way of seeing which HACS integrations needed updating and some of the information presented like number of downloads I didn’t find particularly useful. Hope they sort out some of these issues before forcing it on us
@BeardedTinker11 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's hidden as in - nobody will look there - probably 99% of people will try to find it in HACS tab somewhere...
@sirgoodenough6511 ай бұрын
Updates show in the HA update panel now. No looking for updates at all, they pop up for you...@@geoffreycoan Also you clicked the box in the set-up that says use experimental mode to turn it on. Turning it off is just clicking the box off. Can't get any simpler. But soon it will be the only interface, so...

Perhaps show them a way to build a tab for HACS with Panel_custom as a something to help with that? @@BeardedTinker

The daily sensor and internal media look very useful, thanks; the sort of things HA should do natively
@BeardedTinker11 ай бұрын
Yes I agree - but also, it's nice to find components that improve on what we already have. There are ways on how to do daily sensor out of box, but that's just too complex and a lot of work.

Hello ! I suppose a pre-request for Body Mi Scale is to buy a Bluetooth Dongle for my Synology ? Thank's !!!
@BeardedTinker11 ай бұрын
Depends. Actually it's better to use external Bluetooth Proxy. I use Atom Lite as proxies, some Gen2 Shelly devices have also that built in, or plain ESP32 board with ESPHome on it.

What is the advantage between daily sensor Integration to Helper utility meter?
@BeardedTinker11 ай бұрын
Daily meter can do more as it also can track min, max, sum, mean, median, stdev or variation. Utility meter can reset daily /weekly/..., but is just plain counter. You could use template sensor + utility to do same thing, but would be a bit more complex.
