Bearhawk Five Takeoff and Landing Ride-Along

The new Bearhawk Five is equipped with a Lycoming IO-580, rated at 315 HP. Its propeller is an 82" Hartzell Trailblazer 3-blade. Density altitude is 1000 feet. In rough numbers, the takeoff roll was 500 feet at the 3000-pound max gross weight, with a climb rate of 1000 feet per minute. With the weight equivalent of four passengers and half fuel, the climb rate is 1500 feet per minute and the takeoff roll is around 300 feet.
While in flight, notice how the stick position changes fore-aft based on the CG. The two flights were at 3000lb/21.28" and 2219/12.42". The final CG limits of non-prototype aircraft are TBA at the discretion of the designer.
Both takeoffs were flaps 0 and both landings were flaps 3. It could be that the takeoff distance would be shorter with flaps 2, but further testing will be required to verify this.

The wind shock was drooping, yet appeared to be turbulent. A 3k gross weight aircraft shouldn't be buffeting like that, what am I missing?

I would like to see the cowling further redesigned to allow better forward visibility while landing and taxi. Here is a crazy idea for Bob. Place a lever in the cockpit that is similar to the flap lever but will when activated force the tail wheel down about 6 inches or there about. This would allow for better forward visibility. Could be used on the beginning of the take off run and then retracted after the tail comes up. Or not. Primarily used for taxi. Crazy???

I've been in a bearhawk that the builder made different control sticks that curved up differently.

Just saw that Pilatus PC6 has a stick that goes under the panel. We're not just used to this.

Think of it more like the panel being rearward more then usual, then the stick being too far forward! If the stick felt "good" from the pilot's seat, nicely within reach, what's the problem?
