This is one of your best interviews with a home builder who lives his passion. His love is his family and when you get the opportunity to combine your love and your passion you get to involve your children. I know his son will remember these days his entire life. Thank you Bryan for another great in-depth interview with a plans scratch build he brought out some great tips on low cost tooling ideas for people to get ideas from. I’m sure people will rethink how they approach their build ideas from here on out. Maybe I don’t need a sheet metal shop to scratch build? Maybe just some simple homemade tooling to get through the big pieces? Or just visit your local sheet metal shop and have a few of the long pieces constructed for you and take it from there.... food for thought. Fly Safe Bryan!!

Thank you for continuing to shop up here. YES... Scratch Building can be very rewarding and fun. Time consuming, but the point is the learn along the way new skills and new experiences.

Bryan, I enjoy listening to the people you interview. Their insight to their specific build or problems they encounter are as different as the aircraft or systems they help the develop in experimental world of aviation. Hard tooling is a trad-off in determining just how much time or money one wants to spend in developing these tools. I’m a big fan of hard tooling because I spent several years developing composite tooling for The Boeing Co. Keep the interviews coming and we will be watching Bryan. Take care and Fly Safe!

I was fortunate enough to attend this interview in person with Bryan and John (behind the scenes). John is SOOOO passionate about building this Bearhawk LSA! I cannot wait to see more progress from John and ultimately, the end result. With his attention to detail and love for building, I know his airplane will be spectacular! Very inspiring!

14:00 Am impressed with what this builder has accomplished and his commitment to putting family first. Takes determination to accomplish something meaningful given just 30 minutes or one hour at a time.

I have high blood pressure so my dreams of becoming a pilot have gone down in flames but I still follow aviation and enjoy seeing the developments in aviation. My most enjoyable flights were in Cubs, Champs, and a Maule Rocket. Low and slow is the way to go if you just love being in the air.

Why not fly ultralight?
@ToyManFlyer11003 жыл бұрын
Yeah..like others have said...Can't go far, but UL's mite be an alternative and in your future...I like the Phantom...Starting yrs ago liking the "Challenger", but, now, the Phantom ultralight looks more manageable....

This dude is a airplane building machine....!!!! And, the shop ain't bad, either...Honestly, I don't think he really testing his skills...Given the time, money, and space ( the magic 3 in any type of aviation...from R/c to full-scale), I think he could seriously tackle a twin or quad...

Like he said, just like taking a dump ev'ry day...Take 30 minutes, a hour, a coupla hours...but..take a "dump " ev'ry day....And, when you done, you can take the "packing paper " and tryn wipe the grin off your face...hehe !!!
