In this weeks video we test out two of the better rated bearings available at your local skate shop. The Bones Reds bearings are an absolute staple in the community and Andale bearings are trying to make a name by having high quality for a cheaper price.

Honestly, the whole distance test stuff to compare bearings is nonsense anyway. Who even knows if the entire setup is equal enough? Are the wheels as tight / loose as on the other board? Did he ride the exact same route through the park (extremely unlikely he could even when following a painted line)? In my mind there's no question the Bones Reds are on par with a lot of cheaper alternatives out there. Heck, the _only_ Bones Reds I would ever get, are the Bones Reds you can get for like $20 or so. Anything in their more expensive series just is never worth the additional cost. And people on a budget should get Mini Logo bearings instead. That's half price for _literally_ the same bearings as Bones Reds... Or get something like Independent GP-S bearings, still a lot cheaper than Bones Reds and at the very least on par. I've had these in my longboard and they required less pushes to keep going than Bones Reds do. By my estimation this would make them higher performing anyway, regardless of durability (they are still cheaper, so that evens out).

I tried to pick up skating about 18 years ago when I was a teenager, when I set up my board I used redz, trying to get back into the sport after all these years and a lot has changed but redz are still around I think that says everything that needs to be said, redz all day everyday

Aside from the hundreds factors that can modify the result, bones are lubed with the speedcream that helps with the initial higher acceleration but may be slowing them down with lower speed. So normal bearing oil = longer ride, lower accell. and speedcream = higher accel, shorter ride. In the end if you're on a budget buy the cheapest well known brand (mini logo are the cheapest I can find) and if you can spend more go for swiss/bronson's higher quality. Invest in spacers and clean them.

Bones Swiss used to be affordable at like 35 to 40 and the China redz was 15 to 20 and the Swiss ceramics was at a 100 now bones Swiss is at almost 100 a set and redz is almost 30. So 40 for some andale Swiss is great deal and they good bearings as well. I always wondered what bearing the pro sig models use cuz I know prod so far has the only Swiss pro bearing prolly Joey to since it’s his and prod brand but as in stores and online iv only seem Paul’s to be Swiss bearing. I’m assuming the pro bearings besides Paul use the Abec 7 cuz all the sig bearing are cheaper than the Swiss by like 10 bucks
