That's a great Christmas gift from your wife! Good luck with it brother! It does look smooth as butter, you were getting it down good at the end of the video. A little more time with it, and you will be destroying that target! 🎯 God bless ya, and do a follow up on that bow after a few weeks of straight shooting with that bow!

Thanks Joe, yeah I'll definitely do a follow-on vid down the road a little.

Would like to know more about your archery backstop (curtain). Something you made for yourself?
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Yes it's a DIY project using a rubber stall mat, and conduit framing. Here's a video I did explaining it, kzbin.info/www/bejne/faOVhHmep8isrpI

I have been thinking about getting back into bow shooting. I have never been good with a bow but maybe it's time I try again. This looks like the right bow to do it with.

You know, bows are such a personal choice that I don't recommend them to others. But I sure have enjoyed this one in the short time I've had it. Thanks for watching and sharing your comment.

Nice bow my friend. Good on your wife for that gift. Agree on the black Ridge bow, it's a beast, lol. Good shooting my friend! Best regards
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Hey Scott, thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Yeas the Black Ridge is quite the bow. I might try some 340 spine arrows with 350 gr or so up front, and see if that will 'tame the beast'.....grin.

I'm not into archery AT ALL, but I like to watch your videos--more often for the non-archery aspects, like watching a guy run a snow blower so he can shoot his bow! That's funny!

So these are fine for the taller archers with longer draw lengths ?
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Carl, I draw around 32". To me, it feels like this bow is definitely stacking somewhat past about 30". I really need to get a draw scale and get some solid numbers. Shane

That's a nice bow and that's a lot of snow!
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Thanks Mike, we have some snow on the ground, and that's good for some moisture. Some years it's easily double that. We'll see how it goes, a lot of winter left. We get heavy snow up into April and May sometimes, and sometimes not.

I have this bow. Absolutely love it. I shoot this bow more than my custom longbow that I have

I'm really liking it too. I also have a custom longbow (Toelke Whip) and as far as shooting goes, they feel very similar. Thanks for watching!

Whats the speed like?
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
@@SimplicityEDC I haven't ran it over a chrono, but just going by 'feel', it isn't slow. I have a few 40# bows in both longbow and recurve, I might do a vid comparing them over the chrono using the same arrow, just to see vwhat the difference actually is. Not today though, it's -9F this morning. Thanks for watching!
@SimplicityEDC2 жыл бұрын
@@shanepitzer4126 thanks for the detailed answer! The bow seems amazing for the price considering, and so does the speed. There's just very little chrono data on the webs but sounds like what you're saying is the same consensus as everyone else. Many thanks! Stay warm
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
@@SimplicityEDC Look for some chrono test in the not too distant future. I've got four 40# bows (Spyder XL, Samick Discovery, Bearpaw Blackfoot, and Toelke Whip). I'm going to do a side-by-side speed test over the chronograph.

Hello, is the Samick Discovery less vibrations than a wooden riser(samick sage for exemple) ? What to choose between Samic Sage, Samick Discovery or W&W Black Elk as my first bow? Thanks!
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Eduard, I would say in my experience, my Southwest Archery Spyder XL (bolt-down limbs, very similar to Samick Sage) is quieter, and has less vibrations than my Samick Discovery (ILF). I think the ILF limb connection is just more prone to vibrations as it is kind of a floating connection, not bolted down snug like the Samick Sage. Hope this helps.

hi, i tried one two weeks ago, but it was a lighter version and it's fast (with good arrows) at 40# you should have tried 600 spine, 400 it's too much (that explains the reason why your first arrow litterally plunged but enjoy the silence of this bow !
@shanepitzer41262 жыл бұрын
Laurent, thanks for watching and sharing your comments. I understand about the spine. I have some 500 and 600 spine onhand, but they are 30" shafts and a bit too short for my 32" draw length. With 125 or 150 gr points, they are very fast, but I'm not reaching full draw. So I resort to a 32" 400 spine and put plenty of weight out front. I did find some 32" 700 spine target arrows at Lancaster Archery Supply. The Cross-X Hurricane Octagon. They are the small diameter and I have 140 grain glue-in Aero Points up front.I shoot them out of my Discovery or Satori with 30# limbs and they are very nice. I'm shooting them in this short vid, kzbin.info/www/bejne/gajUepaHqrmalZY
