Ranked by who tho, if it's PFF, they have a history of hating on the Bears. Left to right, Braxton Jones is solid, not great, but serviceable, Jenkins should've made a probowl, he was dominant, Bates is our new center, should be better than Patrick/Whitehair were, Nate Davis was the weak link when he returned, he's gonna need to be better and then Wright was great as a rookie and should only get better. This line is better than its made out to be, Fields can't process at NFL speed, the number of times he gets to the top of his drop and looks lost is infuriating. He's late on throws all the time and even worse now he reconizes hes gonna be late so he just panics and looks to bail at the top of his drop, he's only take like 25 sacks in the last 3 years when he gets the ball out on time, he's been sacked 90+ times when he holds the ball for 4+ seconds. That's an eternity for an NFL qb. He's just bad, this team would be in the playoffs with a competent QB, but they won't be again because they'll either be stuck with Fields or starting a rookie.

We need OLine help long term. Nate Davis flopped for us sadly and Braxton gotta get better going into this year or he’s cooked. @@iels7346 Problem is that Jenkins was out half the season and great when he played. Nate Davis played well for his contract year and signed 3 years with the bears and the last year he wasn't good. Wright showed good potential but still let through too many sacks. Braxton is serviceable so he is like a middle of the pack in terms of tackles. Center was a crap show the last 2 years and Bates is probably going to be a backup since he can play guard or center. In other words our best lineman didn't play half of last year and year before and the rest of them outside of Wright are playing at backup lineman levels. We need help on the line based on how they played last year. Granted we also fired the run game coach at the start of the season and had half the starting lineman get hurt in preseason so they went into the year with half of the starters on IR. The season was doomed from the start by the things happening in the preseason. Then we had a premadonna in Claypool who has the talent but the mental part isn't there. Won't put in effort when not the main target of the play. Half the running backs were injured last year so we played our third string all year. Fields was out for 5 games and that matched up to when we played our easiest part of the schedule. We need a lot of players and I see us needing 4 more offensive lineman in the next 2 years. We should draft a center and tackle this year. See if Bates can beat out Nate Davis for the guard position and hope we can keep Tevin healthy.

22 is not bad one year into a rebuild with a new group and new center. The line is fine, ya poles will add more pieces but saying “it won’t matter who the qb is” is outrageous. Fields was sacked more than anyone else holding the ball for 4 seconds, countless times with receivers running down field. It’s on him but half of Chicago still can’t see this

Something to take in consideration too is the bigger, possession WRs like him age a lot better than speed guys...they usually hit a wall late 20s/early 30s and guys like Allen can be pro bowlers up to their mid 30s. He's still in his prime. Moore, Swift, Kmet are all young. They'll build continuity. It'll give Caleb his best chance to succeed. Worst thing you can do with a young QB is to annually patch up skill positions. Thielen with Carolina last yr was a good example. I'm a fan of his and he had a good season overall, but it'll just hurt Bryce long-term. He's eating up a big % of his in-game reps, while he has no long-term future with them.

The Bears rarely make big moves and are actually known to be a cheap, spending franchise. Julius Peppers was the only huge signing for the most part during the Lovie Smith coached and Brian Urlacher era. The Jay Cutler trade was the only other big splash of if that era, as they were primarily DRAFT built. Brandon Marshall was a trade acquisition. Before that, you'd have to go back to the mid-90s for the Broan Cox signing at Lb. You are obviously not part of our fan base, but make this senseless ass statement as if you're accurate. The McCaskey's have long, notoriously been cheap and called out by fans for being so. The Bears and Jets are no comparisons as FA spenders, liar. *Khalil Mack was a shock TRADE several yrs ago. Last off season, the only name player signing was Tremaine Edmunds, and DJ Moore was packaged in the trade for the #1 DRAFT pick.
