Excellent videos amigo, thank you for all of the great information. I live in Southern Baja California, México, its a harsh sun down here in this desert! Ive found that contrary to all my citrus trees, lemons, mexican lime, kumquats or my mandarina, the bearss lime gets some sort of heat shock and the leaves curl by mid day everyday even with a bit extra water... The plant is a 1.5 years old, will it adapt to this over time or should I move it to a partial shade area of the garden? thing is it would only get about 4 hours of direct sun there. Saludos amigo

When do you prune the top branches to keep the bushy shape? I mean do you start in the first season or wait until it is big enough to produce a substantial harvest.

I bought a Beards Lime tree a few months ago at my local home improvement store. I haven't planned it yet. But I live in Denver Colorado. Will it survive the winter? I do have it on my balcony in a sunny place. But like I said its still in its original pot from the store. How do I get it started and again will it survive the winter, like snow too?

This was so awesome, thank you! I really want to try to grow this, a dwarf key lime fruit, from seed, then graph it next to my american persiommon bonsai. Is there any way you or someone could send me a few seeds? It would mean so much. Just think about it and get back to me please! Thanks!!

In another video you suggested that trees be pruned between harvesting and flowering. My tree is loaded with limes at the moment. Is it okay to pick all the remaining fruit and then prune?
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic 7 жыл бұрын
Hello Laser Sharp, Yes, if you can time and pace yourself to prune between harvest and flower-- that would be ideal. The timing should coincide with the passing of any chance of frost as well! I pruned on this visit because I only visit this property an average of 2x per year and no one would prune this tree otherwise. Great observation! :) Charles

what is the yield or production of the mexican lime tree and how many times a year does it fruit. thanks
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic 7 жыл бұрын
Hello Ibraahim Dirir, The Mexican Lime Tree bears fruit year round; however, the heaviest yield is early winter. The second heaviest yields are typically between May-June. The amount of fruit depends on the size of the tree. Dwarf trees are smaller and generally support more fruit per area of plant than a standard; however, a standard tree because of the size can typically support hundreds of fruit per year (at maturity). Let me know if you have any other questions! Charles :)

Persian lime is seedless because it is thriploid. As its name suggests it was developed hundreds of years ago in Iran but "for some reasons" they have been renamed...

What is a significant difference between lime and lemon, please
@IVOrganic
@IVOrganic 5 жыл бұрын
Hello Adi Araintika Dunia, Both lemons and limes can be yellow, although limes are generally ripe green. Limes are more acidic and bitter, compared to lemons. My wife uses lemons several times per week in preparing salad dressings, and when we switch to limes, there is a significant taste difference. I hope this helps! Charles :-)

So, Persian limes are yellow inside and out?
@gregm4482
@gregm4482 3 жыл бұрын
Only if the fruit is left on. Usually it’s picked green. But if you leave it on long enough it will turn yellow and get a bit less sour. The Mexican lime (key lime) will do the same thing.
