These guys aren't cheesy, Dragonfarce and Cornyhammer are. Beast in Black are the next Edguy meets Hammerfall and Gamma Ray. Just enough tongue and cheeck, with AOR hard rock, with traditional and power metal.

Cheesy and fun live on stage too, went to see a sold out show last week in Helsinki and it was amazing :D so much dancing and shouting, great energy from the band :)

This band is like if 80s Synth Pop and Judas Priest had a Love Child. Yannis also does a great cover of Nightwish's "Ghost Love Score" as well. In fact, Beast in Black has opened for Nightwish. One of the members of this band was a former member of Battle Beast which is where they got the inspiration go for their band name and the font they use for it as well.

excellent review, heard beast in black with the nightwish tour in december for the first time and my god yannis' voice is up there with the upper echelons of vocals. (considering floor jansen followed was one hell of a night of vocallists). I can tell you you're in for a treat when you see them in Montreal.

Each time I listen to this, I fall a little more in love with it. Interesting to me about this song is that while most of their songs have an eighties vibe to them, this one also has a touch of seventies in it. Also, I don't think you're supposed to enjoy anything quite as much as you enjoyed this. I get it though!

Really love this band and album, you should react to Yannis previous band Wardrum, would also love to see some Falconer, Lost Horizon or Seventh Wonder! Specific songs: Falconer - Mindtraveller Wardrum - Lady Jane Grey Lost Horizon - World Through My Fateless Eyes (I know you already did Highlander, but that's their worst song in their flawless discography, IMO) Seventh Wonder - The Angelmaker or Devils Inc (Can't get enough of this band)

Can't believe you didn't comment on the awkwardness in the video where the guitarists and bassist are so stale. Wonder if the meant it being so?! Song is awesome but the riff/solo in Repentless is the highlight of the album. Absolutely memorizing! And their cover of Killed by death is the cherry on the cake.

for me this album is far far more better than Berserk. Oceandeep is awesome and Heart of Steel and This is War are very badass. Btw I'm not a fan of the singer Yannis but in this album it suit so well and melody are so catchy and sound pure 80s (hi true believer)

The ballad is actually my least favorite song of the album, and i love ballads! Ghost in the Rain was so much better. But that, of course, is just my opinion. But the album is amazing again :-) And again... they should get a keyboardplayer!

I agree....my only knock on the band is that, If you are going to use this much of keyboards, get a keyboard player. It really affects your live sound having the keyboard melodies piped in.
