There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.

Great video. This would have been a great choice for me. But I just purchased one of their 4000 series. I just love TORO. Dependable and their machines are just getting better. Nice new design as well. Love your channel.

Just got the havoc edition shipped today to my golf range and you’d think I just bought the new corvette the amount of compliments the first day from customers was almost overwhelming talking about it over and over again but i already have 3.7 hrs on it and love the cut of it upgraded from a 2001 toro smasher 253 and it’s a much better cut and really stands up to commercial grading .. so far very happy just not used to the roll bar yet under branches lol

This is funny, I ordered one of these the second week of Jan., I was told that I would have it in April, well I didn't get it, dealer and Toro told me that production was stopped on this machine and many others due to a parts shortage. Wound up getting a Titan 2500 series, and now that I have used it I think the one I got was a better choice

I looked at those this spring but went with the Bad Boy instead. Front independent and rear suspension, suspension seat, fully adjustable lap bars, dial deck height, same motor, deck and hydros for $500 less out the door. Toro makes a great machine that's been around forever; you'll never go wrong with them but I figured a better ride and a couple of years worth of gas was a better deal. Best to change the break in oil around 2-3 hours too. Smell it and it will have gas in it; normal but change it out anyway. You just spent $6k for it so take care of it.

I have the 50” toro my ride, I love it! Not as commercial but the suspension is a big plus for me.

The ZT3100 transmissions are VERY LOUD and yes I did purge the air out of the transmissions!! STILL WAS LOUD!!!!!

I have a Titan My ride and absolutely love it. Getting the light kit for it soon but this machine as you say is a beast and mows my 2.5 acres in about 45 min.

Curious for your opinion: Bought a house that has an acre yard with TONS of landscaping that is intricately laid out. Lots of snaking sections and regular sized ride ons are too big. I currently have a 30 inch ride on, but hate it. Thoughts? You're the man!

I liked how well built this was, its certainly not cheap at $5999 but this was comparable to similar cub cadets I tested that were almost double the price.

@@TheLawngineer No, no suspension on the seat. Had a lot of padding, I feel like they stuck to basics with this one, but extremely solidly built. Probably a very good choice for very long term ownership but missing some of those extras on their other models, suspensions seat, autochoke, headlights.

Great video. Now... I REALLY want to backfill a hill on the property so that a ZT is usable. Even still, however, even the TORO TimeCutter 4200 is probably more than I would spend. I do love my TORO Super Recyclers though.

I have a Toro Timemaster SS5000 with a 50 inch deck, 2 things I hate about it: PITA to take the deck off to clean underneath and change the blades, and the worst, it's leaving a line of relatively uncut grass on the left side, forcing me to go over everything twice if I want an even cut, and my mild OCD demands that I do. This seems to be a not uncommon problem with the Toro and I can't figure out why it's doing it. If I was to buy another ZTR it would be the EGO electric.

If you're impressed with this Toro you need to check out Spartan! 7ga steel deck, push-button key pad for start-up, and it even has a 12V plug for a cell phone charger.

This is a great mower. I would love to test one out on a good sized lawn. I am pretty happy with my 50" Timecutter (Model 75750). It is beefier then most residential zero turns at this price level. Except for the Hydros. They could of installed a more stout one.

The myride was really exceptional. Looking at it. you think they were nuts for making it. Then you get on it and its like you are riding in a landspeeder or cadillac. Very well done, I think with this model they were going for very solid old school features, maybe to compete with other particular models or something

It's similar to the Scag Cheetah but working on the deck belts looks easy on this but I don't like the one side fuel tank or the Kohler engine

Great review. the tires are nice and the deck adjustment system is too. otherwise, the rest of the features are pretty much the same as my 20-year-old 60" Exmark Lazer Z xs. The Lazer is indeed a full-on commercial mower, but the hydraulic drive system on mine looks to be a lot heavier duty than this model. Perhaps your point is that most of the features on this machine are amazing for a residential unit?

Would you recommend this model for a large yard that is extremely bumpy (some of which is due to the lay of the land and tree roots but also the destruction caused by female dog urine that has left big gaping dead spots everywhere that even when dirt filled are uneven with the surrounding grass)? I've been through three different mowers - one zero turn and two riders - and have ruined all of them. I need something that is tougher than my lawn and I'd appreciate your advice. Thanks.

My mower goes 13 mph and has a 1000cc 35 horsepower kawasaki engine and holds 13 gallons of gas.

Toro was able to get the price down total of the machine because the most important part of it. They cheapened out and put a kohler engine on it where they should’ve stuck a Kawasaki or Honda or vanguard engine on it. Everything is commercial except for the engine sadly.

If you like your Deere that fine but lets not just spread fake news. John Deere has not done well in the past few years with many of their mowers, they lost the hold the used to have, even their signature insanely priced x745 which I have owned has 3.6 stars review. Yet a quick search at tractor supply has almost every Toro at 4.5 stars or above with hundreds of reviews. Remembering the JD of the old days is like what Mercedes used to be. There is no single brand that is a winner, it's all model to model, no one should ever be blindly loyal to a brand, they aren't to you.

Just spent $8000 on the Titan max have it edition and it is a total piece of crap from loose screws during assembly to the belt coming off 11 different times in less than four hours of use. When I called Touro for assistance they refused to give me a corporate contact number insisted. I had to write a letter and told me the only option was to take to a repair center that can’t even diagnose it until sometime in early October and this is my livelihood. I make my living mowing grass, total disgrace, and terrible customer service from Toro.

Absolute biggest piles of trash on the market...drive pulley came apart at 6 months....blades dull after second mowing...fuel gauge quit working and had to replace solenoid at 6 months....forgot to mention right off the bat the rear tire decided to have a warp in it ....buy something else ...they cut like crap with new blades on them also...came cutting like crap....dont take my word for it...buy one and find out for yourself
