Had one of these in my hands at TFNation and nearly got him but he was missing the accessories and I kinda feel like they're as much a part of his charm as the rest of him. You had me doing a full belly laugh at a few moments in this one. The beast mode shot with Mach Kick in "frick it that'll do" mode was a full on guffaw moment.

I think the Clock mechanisms forced them to not go too wild on the transformation. Maybe that's what the rest of the line needed - random appliences built into them.

My favorite part is that there are gaps specifically molded in the shoulder sections so that you can turn off the alarm in beast mode by absolutely throttling the tanuki like he was Bart Simpson and shoving your thumb into his trachea to push down the hidden robot head.

I love my Hienrad, he was the final figure I needed for my BWN crew. I just wish Takara had done a smaller, non-functional version that was more in scale with the rest of the toys, because scale was a thing back then! His toy is great but it towers over all the other BWN figures.

so iirc, the giant ball sack=good money thing is apparently an old joke among the japanese, apparently tanuki skin is very stretchy and used to be used for like money pouches, leading to people joking about that their skin is so stretchy cause they have giant nuts. again this is entirely form memory so take it with a fistful of salt. but if anyone wants more info on tanuki or other japanese monsters, check out gaijin goombah here on yt
