As someone who's had two primary cancers. Endometrial cancer and squamous cell carcinoma that spread to my bones I can see why he thought it was beatable. I can also understand why he apologizes and tries to laugh it off. I've done both myself. However when you hear terminal being said your life takes a huge heartbreak. I think him saying he's sorry is also a double meaning as well as I watch this video. I got to see them in the 80's, 90's and 2000's and I consider myself lucky. I was given 18 months. I was running 10 miles a day and slowly bleeding internally. I've had many surgeries with one being a partial hip replacement plus many organs removed. I went from running to being in a wheelchair because if I coughed I would fracture a bone. I am in less than 1% to get a remission for my type of cancer and I see others like this with an easy to treat and kill cancer and it makes me feel so sad and blessed. Dr's, friends and family like to encourage you and make you feel like you're going to be OK but I'm sorry even if it is "easy to kill" you never truly feel that way inside because we know anything can happen. Now I'm sitting here crying watching this video feeling so bad because survivors guilt is real especially if others in your family died young or have a spouse or children. I single no children so that made it much easier for me without knowing I might leave a burden on someone else plus the burden of a family member having to care for you for years. Cancer and so many other illnesses can take your life away and your dreams but the medicines used to treat cancer and sometimes way worse than the actual cancer. I pray for a cure for this illness along with other illnesses including autoimmune diseases because there's nothing worse than being in so much pain for years. For anyone fighting an illness and to the caretakers be easy on yourself and know it's OK to be not OK and it's OK to not want to talk about it or to talk about it. There's no wrong decision even when it comes to treatments.

Cancer has no discrimination and sadly will visit all our families at sometime. Adam was such a caring soul, my most humbling experience was visiting my childhood best friend. He hadn't long, he was actually making his will out, but insisted I stay. A loving father, son and husband, a real force of nature and had life and fun shining from him, no one hated this guy. We spent an hour and a half laughing joking and taking the P out of each other. To see such a hard working fit man reduced to losing use of his legs, bowels, bloated and bald in pain able to give me time was very spiritual, he glowed with love and humour. Never have I witnessed such dignity and peace in a person nearing their end. Unfortunately I have experienced close loved ones fight cancer to the end. But Vincent my friend you deserved better and went out the hero and great person you always were. RIP
