(TAS) Mario Party DS - Bowser's Pinball Machine

This is my Tool-Assisted Superplay for Mario Party DS - Bowser's Pinball Machine.
Tool-Assisted means I played the game frame-by-frame and used save states allowing me to redo certain parts of the game until each part is perfect. I can manipulate RNG by wasting frames before hitting my dice block. This allows me to control such things as, what hex I get, where the next star location is and which minigame is selected.

Funfact, you can get a consistent result on the coin wheel in real time too since it's not RNG based. You will always land on the tile opposite to the tile you pressed the button on.

I love the way you style on the Computer Players in all the Minigames. Especially Goomba Wrangler, that one was hilarious. That being said, I can't help but wonder if the Warp Dice Block might be a tool worth looking into in a future MPDS run? With RNG Manipulation, it could theoretically allow you to end up on any space on the board at any time.

24:20 I don't know if that was with some purpose in mind, but, you could place the Star Hex in your back, with the intention to get some good items in the shop. Same with the Hex you place one square away. I... was expecting more flippers/Star Zone abuse with double dices, or cannoning to approach the star.

I remember destroying my ds games with action replay. This was one of them. I remember trying all the board elements and soft resetting the roulettes and that 0-zone thing. It was never an ideal "Tool assisted speed run" but I picked the game apart instead of "googling" what happens here and what does this do?

I once got max coins on this map just by resetting each round until I got the max output from the coin multiplier roulette thing, but once I did that I did have the patience to try to optimize stars or anything like that afterwards.

How do you manipulate RNG in Mario Party DS? I thought there was no way you could manipulate the CPU’s dice rolls in this game.

RNG manipulation is very awkward in this game. One way of manipulating the CPU dice rolls is by wasting frames before hitting your own dice block, but the problem is that you can't control all of their dice blocks individually like you can in other Mario Party games simply by pausing the game. This is the exact reason I wanted to go last each turn is so the CPU dice rolls can be manipulated first and then I can focus on my own turn since I had to waste a bunch of time before hitting my dice so I could control star locations, hex pickups, star hexes (so I could get 3 each time) and minigame selection. For the most part I didn't bother RNG manipulating the CPU player dice rolls, I just let them do whatever as long as they didn't screw up my planned route. There were a few times I had to exit the game after the minigame just to change what numbers they would each roll but I decided to cut those parts out just to save on video length.
