If you have gluten complications no wheat is allowed! I do same thing I’ll cook in crock pot and it’s the meal for the week I’ll add some different veggies to it or side salad mashed potatoes or rice etc. I eat it twice a day such as pot roast. Make my own gravy super easy. I Make my own sour dough bread with out yeast. Make my own sour dough starter. I prefer my own cooking any day of the week. You can make this as gluten free flour also. I use all good herbs from my garden and less sodium! I drink only one cup of coffee and the day is water only. I have no blood pressure issues either ! I maintain my same weight for my frame and watch my waist line. I exercise weekly for free. I eat only portion control and no weight issues is key. Over weight obesity can led into diabetes having a high BMI. Which is an expensive disease to control with endless complications. You can go to the library free or if you have a cell google it and follow the American Heart Association for better recipes will help you keep the weight control and healthier recipes. For free

I just started the video, but I completely agree with what Miss Jill said about Gatorade. My husband and oldest son spend hours working in our yard and 1 acre garden over the summer. We're in Florida, so they're sweating like crazy. You know what they do? They SHARE a small size Gatorade (bought on a good sale, of course). I make sure there's plenty of cold water in the fridge or maybe some homemade lemonade, and "miraculously" they are just fine.

I've started making cold brew green tea and keeping two 64 oz. containers going in the refrigerator at all times. I also like the True Lemon packets. They come in lemon, lime, orange, and grapefruit and it's just crystalized fruit. Both are economical and have really helped me cut down on drinking soda.

@@frostygal I just fill a 64 oz mason jar with water and 5-6 teabags and stick in the refrigerator. Let brew for at least 24 hours. To me, its easier than boiling water then cooling back down to refrigerate or even making sun tea. Just keep the containers rotating and you always have iced tea ready to go. Use any type of tea you want.

I love it when Jill is on. I was having issues with no energy. It felt like my muscles just didn't want to move. I went to my doctor and he ran all the tests and checked my vitamin levels. He told me I was perfectly healthy. He could find nothing wrong. I checked over my blood test and noticed my B12 level, while within range, was a little on the low side. I found out in Europe this level would be considered low. I started taking a liquid form of B vitamins and after a few weeks I started feeling better. Sometime later I started feeling weak again, almost depressed. I thought about why I was feeling this way and remembered it had been months since I took my B vitamins. B vitamin is stored in the liver so it takes awhile to feel the effects if you're low. Just because a doctor can't find anything wrong doesn't mean there isn't an issue. Our bodies are very complex. I'm not a vegetarian but I'm not a big meat eater which may be why I was low. I prefer chicken and fish over red meat. Just because a blood test shows B12 to be normal doesn't mean you are absorbing it. If you're not feeling well take a liquid form of B. After a few weeks if you feel better, you were low. That's the best way to know if you are low. Low levels of B12 and B1 can mimic many other diseases and even affect your mental health.

We have 4 adult children. Since they have all left the nest I cook the same amount, but we both have elderly parents. So I divide everything into thirds. We eat a third, then bring each of the parents a third. We put it in freezer safe containers in case they want to freeze and eat later. If they happen to be out of town or don’t particularly care for what I cooked, then I freeze for ourselves. Every Saturday night I thaw out a frozen left over meal for Sunday lunch after church. This way I don’t have to cook just reheat. Works awesome for us!!!

To add to Jill's leftover suggestions: NO ONE said you have to eat the leftover night after night! Break it up. I will make something, then something different the next day and then go back to leftovers "recreated" the following night. One of the reasons people don't like leftovers is because they don't want to eat the same meat night after night. Just my opinion:)

I agree about not using them right away, I tend to freeze them and use for a meal later. Due to both health and finances, I rotate the varieties of protein. For example, if I make beef... it's expensive and I shouldn't be eating it too often. So, I move to chicken, beans, split peas, tuna, etc. Then rotate back to beef. It does take time to meal plan, but it makes a huge difference.

Though it doesn't sound like you eat a lot, I think it's related to how many Americans typically view packages and serving sizes. Give someone a bag of goldfish crackers, and they might not have the "willpower" to only have one serving in one sitting. My teenagers would easily devour the entire bag in one sitting! I decided to make "snack bags" of each item like this by looking at the serving size and measuring out that serving size for each bag or box into individual containers or bags or even canned items. This helped us to see the actual serving sizes and over time, we didn't need to keep dividing out of each thing for too long (just in the beginning). Having everything portioned out into serving sizes helped a lot when we put together some meals, too.

I loved it! 👍😊❣️ Sometimes I start feeling like I just can't get enough to eat. I eat a snack but that wasn't enough I want more, so I end up eating all day long! It's taken me most of my life to figure out that I'm hungry for nutrition not just food. Now when I feel this way I eat extra salads with extra veggies in it and eat that for snacks, too, not just meals. I make a soup chock-full of veggies. I eat fruits that I don't usually eat (like if I usually eat bananas and apples, buy a different fruit like grapes or mellons), instead of just blindly snacking on chips or candy because I'm hungry all day. After a week of doing this my need for snacks goes away and I'm satisfied with normal meals and snacks. Then if I get Where I'm hungry constantly again, I do it again. I've lost a lot of weight once I realized this.😊 I realize that this might not seem like it saves money but it saves money on the junk food I shoveled into my mouth all day. And it is definitely better for my health, hopefully saving on money spent on Doctors and medicines, that being overweight will cost. Plus I feel so much better eating healthy foods compared to junk. My normal meals ARE Pretty healthy and I do take a multivitamin but I still always felt starved! I'm not sure why. This was my solution and it works for me. I just thought that maybe there might be overweight people (or not) that just feel this way, also. 😊

My kids loved leftovers. Of course they didn't know it was leftovers. Baked chicken was turned into chicken quesadillas. The bones and skin became stock. On Saterday we made stone soup. That's when I used the stock bits chicken ans leftover vegetables from that week. If there wasn't leftover potatoes, pasta or rice, I would add a handful of dry pasta. We made soup dinner special by telling the story of three French soldiers that got a village to bring out there best food by making soup from stones. Sometimes we'd play the Doctor Hook song. We always looked for the stone. Who ever got it in there bowl got an extra hug

I plan for a leftover night for every 2 'big' meals. We also do 1-2 breakast-for-supper meals a week. Smaller plate size also helps if you have an issue with portions. Some are HUGE and of course you feel like you should fill it. Results are waste or overeating.

I disagree with cutting out ingredients from recipes to save money. I feel that would do more to encourage waste because for me the food would be bland and unappetizing. We just need to cut the amount of food you buy. Spices are a necessity for me but you don’t have to pay a fortune for them…dollar stores spices are pretty good and Krogers frequently has them on sale or close out. And if people are worried about having excess veggies left over…buy frozen instead so you can use only what you need.

When in Italy, noticed the women mostly use olive oil or coconut oil for moisturizer and lotion. It has healing properties they said. It's all I've used since. It's very natural as well.

Part of what the train people are striking for is the unions want to change it to one person on each train ( which is dangerous if someone was to have a heart attack) also the long hours.

What do you do with a PIcky Husband. I've been married for 36 yrs. So getting rid of him isn't a option. Although sometimes I'm tempted. He doesn't cook.

If he doesn't cook he will eat whatever you cook. Or make a sandwich. Sounds like you have him spoiled. I did that then got tired of cooking all the time. Most men can cook but don't so they don't have to on a regular basis.

If you cook large amounts of food at one time you can freeze the leftovers and heat it later. It beats microwave dinners and it is a lifesaver when you have that day that leaves you wondering how am I going to have time to cook.

You want to keep animals out of the fence, feed the outside of the fence. I had a squirrel who use to get inside and get into my kids cereal, ripping open the boxes . So I took a lid and put a little cereal each day, and they left my boxes of cereal alone.

I buy generic vitamin e-mergency packets add that with 1tsp baking soda in a very large water bottle for my 10 mile daily run. Gives me energy , is cheap and i hate the taste of sugary gatorades. Also do cider vinegar in water.

I do the same things, buy bakery and produce from clearance racks, if something I buy regularly is on sale, I buy 2 or 3, cook in large batches and freeze meals in Tupperware, I can easily keep my groceries to $10 to $20 a week. I also use alot of dry beans and lentils for chili, veggie burgers, soups, stews. Great tips!

Most people find recipes, then shop. That is why people are spending so much. Not shopping from their pantry or using a weekly sale items. Leftovers go into chili, spaghetti, soup, tortilla shells or quiche .

For my juice. I drink a couple drinks and add water or add juice to water bottle. It's still sweet just not as much sugar and my sweet drinks last longer. I learned to use a smaller cup and not a huge cup. It keeps me from over doing it. Smaller eating portions also. Getting older seems like my stomach got smaller
