Beat Ketheric Thorm Easily, Baldur's Gate 3, Act 2, Final Boss Fight, BG3

Im a bit late to the game (pun intended), But here is my guide to make the final Act 2 fight a walk in the park.

I didnt know that he turns into a big guy at the end so i used anything i had...killed all of the others..and when i saw him get that big i jyst looked at my manitor with my characters at 4 hp each and leaved the game ..

I freed nightsong using an invisibility potion, it starts fight immediately, after that, try to keep nightsong alive with cure spells, she'll kill Katheric.

For me she does like no dmg. It pisses me off and she can get one rounded easily. I’m seeing so many clips of her doing radiant damage in the fight but she won’t in mine, especially against myrkul; she does like 10 dmg max against him

@@mythicleader7184 late to respond but were you playing with karmic dice on? It makes dialogue rolls much easier to hit but it also applies to npcs and mobs which can make the combat punishing during encounters.

i also had a hard time, but common sense made me realize that i only need to kill the boss, not the small fries. free the bird lady and destroy thorm or apostle. misty step is such a cheat spell.

I went invisible snuck over and freed her only for a GD mind flayer to promptly dominate her mind. She curb stomped my main and it all went downhill from there

Pretty much had everything figured out. Had a bunch of OP potions etc. Problem for me was that I had no spell slots for the fight. So something that is hard to admit but has to be done is: charging pod thing helped me ALOT. Here's how my first went before that: Attempt nr 1. I was taking my damn time to free the angel thingy and I got peppered down to hard. Attempt nr 2. I got destroyed by mind flayer and realized that it needs to go first. Attempt nr 3. Second phase boss just ruined me. Attempt nr 3. Forgot abaut mind flayer and she just kept stunning 3 members. Now with that charging pod thing I can easily take it. Simply the fact that I can AID at lvl 4 and get like what 15-20 more max xp on each character is a game changer!

Update! Easily won the fight. Well not easy but it was way better then with no spell slots. Pod thing was the anwser. I just boosted with aid at max lvl so that like 15-20 more hp 60-80 for whole party). Boosted my rogue and fighter with giant strenght poisions and went it. Here's the strategy I used: Do the same dimention gate thing with your warrior and kill brain flair. Then don't wait for all the skellies on the other side to take a turn, dash and stop near the platform on the other side. Sneak in with your mage (who isint in initiate order because he was to far then fight started) and fireball those guys. Then if one of them is left alive kill then with other char who isin't in ibitiative order (it was roage for me). Then you get your next turn free the angel thing and you can pretty much fight the boss. P. S. Small tip. Try to get boss surrounded with your characters who are face tanking him because boss has an AOE attack (second phase) and if they are close to each other it hits them all

I struggled a lot here in tactician on the second phase of the fight because you can't heal near the boss, so my supp character was kinda useless more than ever to help nightsong to not die. (I hate her) I did make it with pure luck, all my haste potion and with all my scrolls that summons minions. 😅

Guys get Lythrandas Weapon and take one Mage and one Beast Bow Type or a Druide both can use the Spikes and you good to go trust me

Master tip. Go invisible to save nightsong and give celerity(haste) to her. Shes incridible strong, this is gona make the battle much more easier. Elixir of Peerless Focus to the wizard helps too. And a lot of potions of heroism e giant strenght elixir and mobility(misty step,dimension door, big jump) for everyone

We are screwed. Stuck in shadow lands, few supplies, low health, lacking abilities. Was able to sneak up Moonrise to Ketheric but we don't have a chance in the fight with limited supplies and no long rests 😊

It took me a month to beat this 💀 My party was level 7 and this fight being as difficult as it was took away my motivation to play for a long time. Today I finally got the motivation, found an invisibility potion and beat it after a few tries. My only problem now is that Shadowheart's dead body is still in the colony and theres no way for me to revive her after ive left the colony already because "you can not fast travel right now" wont let me go to camp and when I do the guy to revive her isnt there and I cant proceed to baldurs gate because shadowheart is dead This unfortunately is gonna force me to redo the fight

Im not sure tbh but i think you can still follow the sequence of getting rid of the mindflayer than freeing the nightsong. Just save often so you can go back when a dice roll is unfavourable.@@zacmcdonald8989

@@SaltyNaughtySorcerer after 6 hours, I finally did it twice: first at max difficulty with Nightsong downed, after that I tried at balanced and that was a joke! The damage output was like three times better, less miss and finally nightsong was capable of hitting like a truck for a while! The secret? Let the tank use blunt weapons:)

Kinda not that useful for tactician and above fight, says nothing about easy, plus on that difficulties you have to stay away from him, because his attacks throw you down from the platform and "free damage" on you, so don't come close to him. And also when he consumes necromancers he restores HP and this is very annoying.

Jop, same problem here. I persuaded him to kill himself, then he turns into this bonefckr imiteadely. Nightsong is a big mouthed joke. I ended up in hiding near the entrance for so many rounds that he where out of his healing guys. Then i resurrected my party and luckily finished him off. Now i am playing honour mode and fear this fight coming closer. I will screw up.

@@ralfp8844 nightsong is a joke))) thanks god she is not just dying but stays down)) With the healing guys, get some AOE spells and frost lake which is either ice storm, and then you periodically use a Ray of Frost cantrip. Also slow them down, or wall them off, if you have trouble with them, and Entangle spell or Evard's Black Tentacles There are a thousand ways to deal with them. Also, you can cheese the boss making explosive bag (or pouch) you pub as mush explosive (bombs) in this bag and put the bag in the ground next to the boss, then step back and kaboom! I would say there are not enough explosive to do it in every boss, but Kethric and Anzur would be my top picks, because they're just annoying to fight.
