bro that's so coincidental that you uploaded this video I have been having a ball using the PO-33 with the MkII. I also recently bought a PO-35 speak which is like a vocal synthesizer and I've been adding all kinds of 🔥autotune one shots on my beats lol. The MKII is just so perfect because it acts like a hub you can theoretically have 3 different inputs going into it at the same time (usb-c, line in, and mic/guitar input). I've said this before but it really just makes music creation so enjoyable. Praise to the person who came up with SKIP BACK!!!!

I have the PO-33 and the PO-35, and am getting the SP404MkII soon. Although the PO-33 was my gateway into beat-making, to me it's just a smaller, fiddlier, less capable version of the SP. The combo I'm really looking forward to is using the SP to sample the PO-35's voice synthesis, with PO-35 effects like autotune, chord, fifths, and robot. Nothing else I have can do that.

i have used a sony cassette player to get crunchy drums so yh it is a lot of fun and it does work well

thats crazy man, im using the same combo but im using the po33 sequencer instead, ive just spend alot of time with the po33 and was a little lazy to figure out how the 404 sequencer works, i guess i should give it another try and see how it works with version 3.02 - im a 1bar machine right now, glueing together more than 100bars to record a track is kinda crazy

I've had my sp paired with a looper since I bought it, and while that's fine, it does feel like roland just keeps coming up with new ways NOT to live loop each time they update the pattern sequencer. Live looping would be a huge solution to simplify pattern sequencing, resampling, and going between the two. Especially when using external instruments. All it would take is samples playing automatically after recording and continuing to play while you set up a resample.

Yeah it was pretty fun to use the looper when I had the 555!

@@snoooozer so po33 have a low sample rate that makes it sound really dirty and lofi. Sp 404 mk2 have high sample rate so when you put it in the machine it sounds the same as the sample

The world currently has its head up it's ass in a time of cultural decay and the return to old samplers and keyboards exemplifies this all the beats in the world will not save it if songs don't speak to the souls of the people. The icey est hyper pop and the hardest hip hop beats have been made. We don't need a drum n bass revival we need storylines and lyrics and song composition about life in praise of living instead of guns sex violence. Sadly these tools take a lot from FBA AA culture and so many youths in America and abroad can't afford a korg or a sp404 or even a Casio. Someone found out I had a sp404 and asked if I was a gamer ? I guess gaming and lo Fi go together. I use the machine to create vibes and speak a unspeakable message of popular sounds in new sequences the acapellas with the words that mean the most and the intros and break with the most atmosphere. Someone should reedit all the old cheesy music ....bass in my Buick instrumental type vibes

If they can't buy a dedicated sampler, just get a mobile app for their phone! (beat making has never been so accessible before) and it's true they should make something new, about their life today.
