@catinabox30489 ай бұрын
Jess was accurate to the exact number of pull-ups she can do, which really shows that she's practicing regularly and maxing out. Good job to her! It usually takes a woman many months of targeted pull-up training after already having a good foundation in general strength training in order to do just one pull-up, so being able to do three is well above average. She's not an athlete, firefighter, policewoman, or military, so you can't compare her to those people. Women who do not belong to one of those categories usually cannot do pull-ups at all, even if they go to the gym regularly.

I took this girl I really liked to a Military festival and we had a great time going into military vehicles and holding their massive guns and stuff. They were having a pull-up competition as they often do as these things and she wanted to check it out. I wasn't super interested, so I suggested going to another area. But she insisted, so we went. She jumped up to the bar, but couldn't do any. One of the recruits there helped her out to dish out a couple. Ready to leave, I suggested we get out of there. But she really wanted to see the skinny guy she was with try to do a few push-ups, so she insisted. I finally acquiesced and jumped up to the bar. Immediately her eyes went wide (she didn't know I was an athlete) and so did the guys running the bar. FULL range of motion, I hit 15 and still clearly had strength and a crowd started to form. We had to count the reps as we did them and once I hit 20, the people around started counting with me. I got to around 25 and by now a crowd had actually gathered (probably around 40 people). When I hit 29, my arms and back were done and I relaxed on the bar for a moment. I could see the gaze of anticipation from the crowd. I knew that if I dropped down, I would be hit with the biggest sigh of my life. So I called out to the crowd. "I'm so tired, I can't do any more. But I'm gonna do one more!" I mustered the last of my strength and squeezed out a final rep. I dropped down and the small crowd cheered and clapped and I was quickly swarmed by recruiters. Haha The girl's jaw had dropped. She couldn't believe what just happened. Frankly, I couldn't, either. It was such a cool experience. A pretty awesome day that left me with a fun little story.

Things to start in 2022: - working out - investing money (crypto, stocks, savings) - ending bad habits (snoozing, gosipping, procrastinating) - planning your days - Eating healthier & learning to cook - weekly walks (in nature, no headphones/airpods) - drinking water daily (2-3 liters) - Reading at least 5-10 pages of a (e)book - Quiting drugs/alcohol (you don't need that bs) - meditating - Giving to the less fortunates - cutting out bad friends & family - minimalism - Learning a (remote) skill (coding, music, designing, marketing) [Screenshot this, atleast try it & any questions? Ask them + share this if you feel like it]..

I can see that you read the advice and you move slowly towards calisthenics, it is a small detour on your way to "bodybuilding" that in the long run will give you much more fruits than powerlifting can offer. Added to the fact that your body has an advantage lifting its own weight rather than weights. I am sorry to live in Argentina, for which I cannot participate in your physical events, but rest assured that I definitely have more ideas and I will be giving them to you for free as time goes by.

Obviously I'm not Nick, but in case it's helpful -- the best thing is to go to a PT if you have access, so they can fully assess what's going on. In my own experience, knee pain resulted from my increasing mileage too quickly when I was getting started and not having strong enough hip/glute muscles. These are the types of exercises that helped me: runningmagazine.ca/sections/training/injuries/4-hip-exercises-to-relieve-knee-pain/ Good luck!
