Why was this never released??? Its freakin criminal. This was my favorite joint when i was a kid, i had to keep rewinding my vhs tape to enjoy this short dope performance. The music industry sucks

When the movie was accused of inciting violence at theater showings, Atlantic Records canceled the third volume of the soundtrack that was supposed to be released. Perhaps a full-length version of this joint was supposed to be on that joint! Peace.

Today makes 31 years since Beat Street was released and this is history! S/O to my hip hop sister, Wanda Dee, one of the most awesome first female DJs in Hip Hop! As an amazing female hip hop duo, Wanda Dee began deejaying for me, MC Debbie D, one of the first female mc soloist in hip hop (later became one of the Us Girls in Beat Street). For pics and footage of our routines together in the early 80s, search Wanda Dee and Debbie D on KZbin. Good stuff! As matriarchs in hip hop, we were indeed, the Ladies of the 80s! More pics on Facebook at MC Debbie D.

Heya guys. Quite a few years ago I was lucky enough to go out for dinner with Arthur Baker, who produced most of the tracks in Beat Street (as you all probably know), anyway - I asked him about the tune that the Fantastic Duo are dancing to, that later appears briefly in the Kool Herc 'Burning Spear' club....it took him a while to remember what I was talking about, but it turns out that it was just an instrumental that he made for Beat Street, and it never actually got a release. Annoying.
