Beat TFL - Avoid paying ULEZ Charges for Non Compliant Cars (Heathrow Airport and elsewhere)

TFL gives no way for you to check if your vehicle has been in the ULEZ and needs to pay the £12.50 charge, particularly frustrating if you travel near midnight and might need to pay for 2 days. One way to avoid being charged if your car isn't detected is to use an Autopay account rather than manual payments.
You obviously won't be able to avoid paying all ULEZ charges especially if you are in the ULEZ repeatedly but it's definitely a good way to only pay if TFL have spotted your vehicle.
Update - 5 weeks on I've still not been charged for the 2 journeys into the ULEZ. If I'd used the TFL manual payment I'd be £25 down by now.

They got me, Heathrow Terminal 5. They have a camera hidden behind the road sign, no indication at that time that this was in the ULEZ area.

Set up auto pay? You gotta be joking! No way! Why would anyone want to automatically pay such a ridiculous charge? We already pay ridiculous amounts just to own and drive our cars so absolutely no reason to pay this pathetic charge!!! I know I will never pay any stupid charges like this and you should all do the same..

Same with CC, no way to find out if you have entered the CC area. I find that a major flaw, or maybe it's designed that way to capture penalties...

I'm sure it's by design so you pay just in case to avoid getting fined

Hi I recently applied for the manufacturer's certification of conformity. And from what I can tell the test procedure emissions are CO2....0.123 NOx....0.216 This is a 2007 bmw diesel. Does this fall under the ulez and clean Arizona requirements?

NOx has to be 0.08 or less to meet ULEZ limit so no it doesn't meet it
