Renowned African dance teacher Melvin Deal (look him up) said this dance has existed in Africa for hundreds of years. It was used to prepare for war. I guess we do carry our ancestors in our DNA.

Why it gotta be a war dance or some weird shit. Africans was dancing also to just be chilling. It wasn’t always a war or reason. Same way we dance for entertainment now, so did Africans!

@@mysisterisafoodie There are different dances for different purposes. (Just like "twerking" originated as an African dance. ) That is the purpose of that one.

@@mysisterisafoodie : African nations had to constantly defend their country. Some by colonizers and other times from neighboring countries since there was no " we are one" understanding. It was country against country. That is one of the reason slavery happened. Many neighboring kings captured neighboring people and put them into slavery Doe a profit.

All the old heads complaining about the beat your feet dance chill. Y'all know the kids was doing this in the 2000's and it was lit. I personally didn't, but the battles and shit was a part of our culture. And no I don't know who this guy is, and no we didn't need a teacher to teach us back in the day. But if he wanna bring awareness and teach other people then so be it. ♥💯
