I know what you mean. I kept thinking the title was Mob Rule/Street Wars but that was a mafia strategy game. Looking at the library for the OG XBox and couldn't help but feel like a game there called, Beat Down was awfully familiar. KZbin search and seeing the thumbnail felt like I encountered an illegitimate child :P

It became an instant meme for me and my friends when i saw the ad in a video game magazine. This is the first time ive seen the actual game. Great title.

Hey, thanks for reminding me about this game. Was able to purchase this on eBay, but couldn't install on Windows 10. Was able to get a fix though 1) Downloaded and Installed VirtualBox 2) Installed a Windows XP vm 3) Installed Beatdown successfully 4) Copied the C:/Program Files/Beatdown folder to a flash drive 5) Moved the Beatdown folder to my Windows 10 PC. 6) Using x96dbg.exe and HxD, patched the beatdown.exe to remove the CD check 7) Turned on compatibility to beatdown.exe so that it runs with Windows 95 compatibility 8) Started Game. Hope this helps those looking to play this.

Man I remember this game as a kid, I only ever had the demo and always wanted to play the full game. I found a download link for the full game, but when it finished downloading the .rar was flagged by Windows as potentially hazardous, so I didn't try to install it.

Try here archive.org/details/BeatdownDemo there is a zip file on the right. I had no idea the internet archive had full old pc games. I figured I would look for this game from my memory. I could not recall the exact name but this video confirms it was what I was thinking of. I don't think this ever became a full game.
