Best of luck on your travels! I was so close to visiting Japan at one point myself. I had experience with modeling and in late 2015 I was in contact with Capcom about the facial likeness role of Leon for the Resident Evil 2 Remake. I failed to mention I also have a voice acting background, in the end I lost the part and I can't forgive myself for wasting such an opportunity. That would've been a real dream come true to visit South East Asia.

I teared up at the end hearing you talk about conquering your anxiety with this trip. I did a similar thing on a much smaller scale this summer. Tbh, I'm glad you did this! You and Kim deserved this trip after *looks at history*, after everything that has happened. Plus, you got to do it with friends who are big gaming nerds like you and Kim. All in all, you had fun and you got to grab some stuff you never thought you'd grab (plus, super jealous on some of the games as that's expensive here in the US.) I honestly would suggest the next time you do a trip to Japan, plan another visit to Super Nintendo World (when the Donkey Kong expansion opens), visit some more gaming shops (shopping is good for you btw), see some of the more obscure museums/exhibits devoted to some stuff like Nippon Cup Noodles, Osamu Tezuka's works, etc. OH! And the ghibli park (the actual outdoor park that you can walk around, not to be confused with the Ghibli Museum)

I was a bit concerned about how you and Kim were dealing with the anxiety there, coz I've been to Japan and it can get quite overwhelming there, specially at video game stores.. so many lights blinking, so much noise.. it can be a lot.. at the same side, there's also these beautiful parks in the middle of the city were you can just go in and recenter. You are both amazing for doing it. Be very proud! It was hard and you did it!!

I was in Kyoto last week and a Nintendo store had just opened there. The coolest part was where you got the timed tickets to enter was in the train station where they had scenes from Mario games all down the walls of a long hallway. One side was modern artwork, one was classic SMB3 artwork. As you walked through, the ambient music changed to match the scene (overworld, underwater, underground, boss, etc.) it was so cool!

I like seeing the real relatable person Wood talking about the stuff he faces. So that's awesome to see the story of a guy who worked hard, doing something he loves. That becoming his career allowing him to be with the woman he married has a home, nice animals. And gets to do something this insanely cool with his friends. It's honestly inspiring for someone like me that's wanted to hopefully one day obtain something like this.
