I only started watching Directs in 2019 and it has been a rollercoaster so far. I wish I watched them during the 3DS days since many seem hilarious and meme worthy (but funny enough I had no idea these existed). My first Nintendo Direct was January 2017 where we found out about the Switch in detail and the release date for it and Zelda. Me seeing the 2016 Zelda trailer made me aware of the existence of Directs. Been a revived Nintendo fan ever since. Thanks to the Switch.

I started watching directs in 2017 and I'll never forget when they announced Labo and I almost had an aneurysm from being so mad. I felt like they had wasted my time to announce cardboard and it failed miserably. Hate it to this day.

It's interesting how many people don't remember how lackluster the switch was at launch for someone who didn't care about Zelda and 1 2 switch was kind of a joke there was no reason to get one for me what made me buy a switch was the Mario odyssey bundle and Xenoblade had just been announced so I brought one much later in the year because there's always that wheird transition period between consoles and then I think the switch really popped off in 2018 as they focused on the switch more added many more indie titles and first and third party titles but yeah it's not surprising the 3DS was still the main focus even after the switch launch

I gotta say, I love my raycon. Bought them with your code but idk if it was just me that got unlucky. After a couple weeks, the case stopped charging my buds :( and well I prob have a weird ear shape cause none of the buds fit me so I can only wear them for a couple hours before it starts to hurt my ear. Nevertheless, I dont regret buying them cause I do enjoy the sound quality and they were the gaming buds which helps with using on discord for me. I started watching Directs actively back in 2018 with the January Mini Direct. Ever since then, I’ve gotten super hyped with each new one that’s aired, I’ve gotten really into all the Direct speculation and honestly, when they’re really good, sometimes they can be stand out moments in my years (E3 2019 for example). Directs got me fully into the online community of Nintendo and I haven’t turned back since. Love you guys!

The first direct I ever watched was the one in September 2019. I remember absolutely loving it and I couldn't wait for the next one. However that was the last major direct they had for like a year and a half so the wait for the next one made me sad 😂

I actually own Freakyforms Deluxe! Granted it got it for $10 (new, not even used) so that may say something about the quality of the game. It was fun for what it was... You make creatures and then do the most basic baby platforming with them. The platforming was honestly trash, but making creatures and getting other people's creatures from Streetpass was interesting for a bit. Keep in mind that I was already an adult when Freakyforms came out; kids may have gotten more fun out of it. My favourite creature was one I got from Streetpass named "7 Circles". It was just 7 Circles super far apart from each other, and it actually gave the game some basic level of challenge because if one of the circles fell into a hole, the other 6 would get dragged in and you would die. Also there was the ability to add creatures to your game using QR codes and there is an invulnerability in the game that essentially resulted in people using the QR code reader to launch homebrew software on the 3DS. Because of this, the price of Freakforms Deluxe skyrocketed at some point.

If we were to count game-specific Directs, I think the August 2018 Smash Bros. Direct would be my choice for the best one of all time-I will never forget how amazing it was to watch that when it came out, from the reveal of Simon and Richter with Alucard and Dracula appearances (and Death killing Luigi), Chrom and Dark Samus being revealed, all of the miscellaneous details shared in the middle, the tease of Spirits, and the reveal of King K. Rool at the end, it truly was the Ultimate Direct for me.
