Actually I went to Japan in 2005 and spent a couple days in Kyoto and Tokyo, when I moved there to go to school in 2016, almost of all the arcades had closed down, it was just the few major game centers were left. I was sad because there were some really cool arcade games back in 2005 I can't find no where now. It just Motion based games(like DDR but with your hands), a Fighter game, Taiko Drummer, impossible claw machines everywhere, and coin droppers now.

Careful, "Daijoubu" doesn't techincally mean "no," it means "Okay." Technically speaking, Japanese doesn't have a formal "No" word. Daijoubu desu = Literally "I'm fine." Can be used to say "no thank you," or as a response to someone asking about your health/status. Daijoubu desu ka = "Are you okay?" Daijoubu alone can also be used to say "It's fine" in regards to an object or situation, like if asked if food is too spicy, or your bed has enough pillows. Just don't use daijoubu as a hard "no" if you are asked a yes or no question, or if you are asked if you did something. It is only a no in the instance of a polite decline if offered something. Edit: People have pointed out that "iie" is the equivalent of a literal "No," but it is considered extremely rude to use in casual conversation. My bad.
@Pado014 жыл бұрын
Yeah I thought it was a bit odd when that came up. I usually use "iie" as a hard no.
@marcelo012864 жыл бұрын
There is a word for no, its iie.
@HarryLin4 жыл бұрын
Actually daijoubu can mean no in many cases. And you can also say kekkou desu to refuse an offer(like when someone tries to sell you something). I think a better translation for daijoubu would be "no, I'm cool with that"
@Thehotdogman12214 жыл бұрын
No hard "no"? What about いいえ (Īe)? Isn't it a harder no? Serious question! I'm learning japanese and thought this was a strong no.
@HarryLin4 жыл бұрын
@@Thehotdogman1221 you're correct. I personally don't agree with OP that there's no hard no in Japanese. But people tend to use softer words to refuse others. Refusing other people directly is considered rude, so people will say things like ちょっと.(it's a bit...)

Mandrake is literally half the price of all figures and games you can find on the streets at the random little stores. You can almost always find rare items there; collectors figurines and games. After traveling to numerous stores in Akihabara - we've found Mandrake to be the best, with the best selection for cheapest.

The Mario Party arcade game is based only on Mario Party 8, I believe. That hat guy is from Mario Party 8, the candy is from Mario Party 8, the minigames like baseball, barrel-lasso or 1-on-1 fights are literally in Mario Party 8. The Kart game is slightly different in Mario Party 8, I believe. The board visually seems like it's from Mario Party 8 too, but the layout is clearly a bit different. It seems interesting though.
