"Where africa should be, is just a huge landmass" Yeah, thats africa... LOL what are they talking about
@lakersouthpaw4 жыл бұрын
I know right? Maybe they are used to certain map projections where Europe looks a lot bigger.
@MsArchitectschannel4 жыл бұрын
they are complaining about the east of africa where it connects to the middle east, which nowadays it technically doesn't because theres a giant ass canal but lots of people don't know it does for quite a distance :p as far as i am aware that gap has actually gotten decently larger in the last 1000 years :p
@hearthealer4 жыл бұрын
I think they're more used to Africa looking more North-South than so East-West in terms of size. The Africa on the game's map looks vertically squished. (But yeah, Africa IS connected to the Middle East via the Sinai Peninsula, with the exception of the Suez)
@MsArchitectschannel4 жыл бұрын
@@hearthealer i guess but smithy has played total war where its just a strip? :p compared to the map i have in my room hung on the wall (6ft fabric map) africa is less "flat topped" and the connection to the middles east isn't quite as big as in CK3 :p

There's a guy on reddit that successfully ATE THE POPE. I'm still laughing at how much of an absolute legend that guy was. A viking went crazy, captured Rome, reformed the Norse pantheon, and decided the best way to execute the head of the Catholic church would be to devour him. I flipping love this damn game.

Would absolutely love to see you guys get halfway decent at this game. There are some amazing opportunities for funny interactions with the 3 of you in the same world. Please consider doing a game with Sips to help guide you-- he could help you all with questions and tell you what you need to work towards at the beginning of the game. Something kind of funny would be to watch Sips start as King of West Francia and the 3 of you as Dukes under him.. would be hilarious to watch you guys follow orders or bicker to become the new King of France..
@Emperorhirohito192724 жыл бұрын
Yeah sips isn’t gonna do that though is he. And I agree with him playing this with other people would be a massive ballache

@@Emperorhirohito19272 I dunno man, Sips can do what he wants? Besides why get so caught up on it having to be Sips. Was just someone from the yogscast who they play games with who might be able to teach them a bit. Otherwise as Ross said I'm sure they could watch other channels to get to grips. This game isn't always a ballache with others either, depends on your rules. Smith already enjoys stellaris with friends and you're literally watching a video where they play together. @DLaurie4 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see more of this. I was watching Ross' stream today, he could really do with spending a bit of time playing it on his own (if you have the time?). There is SO MUCH info thrown around in this game and he was clearly just completely overwhelmed by it. Watch someone do a play-through whilst you play the same nation, just get a basic understanding of how to control your armies in war and the more important menus that manage councilors and vassals. You don't need to be a professional, just get a basic understanding so your game doesn't unofficially end within the first 10 years. Maybe you'll disagree with me but there's huge potential for the 3 of you playing this together, it's really funny. I only have 37 hours in the game and I never played the prequels. I replayed Munster (the tutorial Petty King) 3 times before I got control of Ireland for the first time and felt like I had an understanding of the basics. There's a lot of learning to do....
@Emperorhirohito192724 жыл бұрын
I managed to take Ireland the first time... but keeping it? Man the whole thing just exploded into literally the same as game start. Very disheartening but I’m glad I’ve stuck with it game is really good once you have the basic idea and can keep a game going

Love these videos. Just try not to give up, Paradox grand strategy games are notoriously difficult to even become competent, but when you get past that wall they are just so much fun. They may be complex, but that same complexity gives you so much freedom to do whatever you want. Also, try not to get caught up in the short term losses, it's only over once your dynasty is off the map.

I like the perk in the intrigue lifestyle where you can fabricate a hook. It means you can just try and attempt to create a hook for a character out of nothing (and it might sometimes even be a strong hook). This means you can do a variety of things such as modify a vassal's contract to have higher taxes, force someone to vote for your favoured successor or give you gold if you have the perk to demand payment for hooks (from stewardship). It works best if you have good intrigue and especially if you aren't an independent ruler, you are someone else's spymaster. As a vassal you still have the autonomy to declare war on neighbouring rulers or even fellow vassals (vassals can have vassals, as long as they are a lower rank). Being on your liege's council means you get a couple of buffs related to your role. I found that it's easy to be on the council if you have a high skill level and are a powerful vassal (i.e. you are one of the strongest vassals so your liege will want you on the council to avoid an opinion penalty). If your liege takes you off the council then you can always get a hook on them since you can use it to modify your feudal contract to be guaranteed a spot on the council. Without a hook you can still do this but you need to change the contract to benefit your liege in a different way (meaning you'd have to give away more taxes or levies). Never really played CK2 but I played CK3 as soon as it was released and have been having fun with it. I've only have 20 hours so I'm by no means an expert but this is just my experience. Can be very easy to play singleplayer and suddenly realise 6 hours have gone by, like I did on the first day.

I'm pretty sure the map looks weird because it's meant to mimic hand drawn maps by early cartographers. IE: "Well when I was walking around on the ground it *felt* like it was shaped like this" *draws africa in the wrong place* "Yeah, seems right to me. Besides, who is gonna be able to check, right?" "Yeah what are they gonna do, send brains up into the sky on explosive towers so they can look down and out us for not knowing what we're doing? That would be ridiculous"
