My daughter was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer, she's a gobbie 21 year old now so lots of positive outcomes. It's good to talk Dave

Thanks Dave, Cancer is crap but needs talking about. Watched my wife battle it for the last 18 months and thankfully she came out the other side, but now worrys about it coming back, so it never goes away as such. I never preach but during her treatment i looked into the relationship of sugar and Cancer, it was real eye opener. All the best to anyone out there going through treatment at the mo.

Hi Dave. been watching you and your channel since Met Forte helmet advert... red green white .......I bought 2 ... £40.00 each .... Med and Large and sold the Large to pal .....Yes you've guessed correctly.... £40.00.👍 Ikooked up the music and chapel etc ...scenery and mood of film was fantastic you've had quite a journey since. (Watched all the early ones as well ) Your videos on cycling and your life are the best on KZbin. The ups and downs.... relationships are hard enough......without making them public knowledge. But I think you've came out honest and true to yourself and pushed yourself to be the best you can be. I got seriously into cycling after watching the Met ad.... I'm 66 now and have now got 7 cracking bikes....had heart attack and got lung disorder. 🤪 but Ho Hum. I waken in the morning and see the ceiling and all is ok. I wish you good health and also KIDDO.....and Congrats on your engagement. 😎✌

Enjoyed this vlog Dave, I'm not a runner but I do enjoy it for a bit of a change. You mentioned the Strava thing and I thought I'd say that I've stopped using it. It's one of the best things I've done recently for my mental wellbeing. I am not longer worried about what I'm uploading or whatever anyone else is doing 🤣

Hi, I’m a local (to you) urologist, so always good to hear stories about your experience. I have a particular interest in prostate cancer so wonder if you could link me to the video you mentioned from ‘benchman’?? If ever you had any questions, happy to catch up for a ride/run and chat about these issues.

Congrats on kicking the big C ‘s arse . I’ve been trying running for the last couple of years . 1-2 times a week . It’s hard but you are younger than me so good luck , I normally do about 10 min / miles . I ran 12 miles last weekend took me just over 2 hours . I tore a calf muscle a few years back and get a twinge now and again and I know long socks can be marmite but compression socks when I run really help . Keep up the running and the cycling . Congrats on the engagement 😁🎉

It's crazy, because I was just having a discussion with a friend today about not talking about my own cancer situation because I too was "lucky". A little over 12 years ago I was diagnosed with adenoid cystic carcinoma in my neck. I had surgery to remove it, no chemo, just a bunch of CT scans to monitor things. But yeah...at the time it was probably the most scared I've ever been in my life. There is no real amount of time where you can say that type of cancer is "cured". It may come back literally any time, or it may never come back. So I try to put it in the back of my mind and focus only on the things I can control and just enjoy life!

Dave, cancer discussions can be hard but they are necessary. If you can persuade just one person to get tested it is worth the discussion. I myself have been in a watchful waiting period for lymphoma for the past 13 years. I was lucky that I was diagnosed early. If i could share on bit of advice it would be to listen to your body. If something seems off make sure you investigate it. Early diagnosis is the key. Stay well!

My daughter had leukaemia. It was rough. I understand why you find it hard to talk about. It gave me an undying respect for child oncologists. I don't know how they see that stuff everyday. Hell, there is stuff I wish I could un-see on those wards.

In the 1950s my 25 year old dad lost a leg and several lobes of lung to cancer, had radiation implants, and was given a year to live. Well, cancer opens the door to miracles: By the grace of God and Dad's tough "Navy Man" approach to challenges, he lived a good, long life to the age of 82! Enjoy your own miracles!
