Got the gravel wheel top group set, fantastic and yes I have had the other electronic ones. Really happy with it.

Great to hear your happy with it. I think the gravel one is the best yet!

Thanks Dave, Great review. I think I’ll give the rim brake version a try on my Moulton. Two less cables to split when I split the frame to transport will be so much easier. And electronic shifting too, happy days!

Sounds ideal! Love that they have a cable version too.

If you go for a full groupset Shimano 105 is not much more expensive, but for an upgrade for an older bike Wheeltop can be an option as it can handle many different cassettes.

105 is always a good option but also isn’t electric…to get that version you’ll have to spend a fair bit more.

Really considering one of these but really torn because the gravel version only comes as one-by. Would love if you did a side by side compare of the gravel vs road version of these two.

The gravel is amazing…I think it’s better than the road. Happy to do a side by side. In short it’s tougher, a little heavier but the shifting feels slightly better and more precise. Its like the road version on steroids 😂

This would almost convince me to go wireless except the battery, would love a separate battery like sram... would be OK for my road bike though. I do like they have cable options for the brakes as well. Now Dave... what happened to the crickets...? I always liked them...
@DaveNoakes17 күн бұрын
A removable battery would be nice, not a deal breaker for me but I get what your saying. I’m not sure where the crickets went…I think I put the wrong intro card in 😂

Got to say £600 for a groupset still seems high to me. So many cheap second hand bikes out there now hardly used. For me, I like bikes because they are so cheap and fun compared to cars. But I'm sure this will help some. If they keep bringing the price of electric shifting down that is good.

I get what you’re saying, it’s more when you compare it to other products on the market it’s good value. I hope brands like this are successful as like you say it will push the prices down a bit.

Looked at this from my rim brake winter bike , rim brake version £450 on wheel tops website pretty cheap , feel its more an upgrade kit rather than a groupset
@DaveNoakes17 күн бұрын
I guess without the discs, cassette and crank…an upgrade kit sounds right.

@DaveNoakes hopefully now wheeltop have brought rotor they will offer a full groupset in the future, I think what they have done is awsome , making it rim brake and disc brake , multiple speeds ,it looks really nice , long as it lasts 🤞feel it's a games changer for all the people that don't want to change there bike but want modern groupset 👌

I think my next group will be wheeltop, seems like a great product at a good price, but the biggest thing is the compatibility. I have a really nice 11spd di2 but its not compatible with anything new which is becoming problematic. For example i want to add a front derailleur, but to get an older FD is hugely expensive now. Shimano and sram are going to regret their planned obsolescence i think, as better consumer focused companies take over
