Beating Civilization Stage but I made it more difficult (Spore)

The world war had came to a close. Brown was seemingly at its final hour, with all of its offensive operations being pushed back by the allied forces of cyan, lime, and pink. The current ruler had resigned, and nobody wanted to be the one with the dishonor that would come as soon as the war ended. A new ruler appeared still. Their name was Kingly, and they were a popular celebrity known for being able to breathe fire. He also claimed to have royal blood in him, but he would be disputed on that point by many. When Kingly became ruler of Brown, he saw the desperate economical situation the nation was in. Every other nation was also closing in on the last two cities that Brown held, but he knew without sporebucks, no military resistance could stop the coming threat. Just as everyone thought the end was near, Kingly was able to scrape barley enough sporebucks through very desperate means to get one single boat. The most intense last stand in history would take place, as Kingly would lead his boat against Lime. The men were desperate, and they knew if this battle was a loss then they would lose everything. The desperation and Kingly's genius tactics would allow for a deflection of this Lime attack. But in order to defend from Lime they all had to regroup, so they were unable to stop the Pink offensive. After this offensive by Pink, they opted out of the war. It was a bitter blow for Brown, but Kingly knew that peace with Pink was required for survival. Just as the citizens of Brown thought it was over, a two pronged attack from Lime and Cyan occured at the same time. Kingly gave up his pride, and sent diplomats along with sporebucks to hopefully try and get a truce. After a little bit of pushing, and using up all the remaining sporebucks they had, non-aggression pacts were signed and Kingly could relax once more. Kingly was a very shrewd man, and he had great knowledge of the economy. Because of this, he knew the only way to rebuild the nation fast enough before the next war would occur would be by sacrifice. Factories that were used to feed the people and give them basic needs had to be switched, and protests would occur. The military would be involved, and every man, woman, and child would have to play a part in building. It wasn't at all ethical, but sacrifices had to be made. As the economical improvements to Brown raged on, the rest of the world quickly split up and began to infight, opening up a golden opportunity. Kingly spent all his resources on making a large navy, then striked at a fairly peaceful Pink city. Kingly would use special armour piercing rounds that were not only light, but deadly. He would also drill his army in the art of fast reloading, allowing quick volleys to strike all at once. Kingly's offensive on Pink's territories would continue, and the other nations would be too winded to react to this new global superpower. Pink would attempt to show dominance through their more flashy and expensive planes, being too cocky to realize that they would pose little resistance. Pink instantly sent a counterattack, but this would leave openings that would lead to their counterattack being even worse then if they had done nothing. Lavender would attempt to attack Brown but all of their offensives would be bottlenecked by Cyan cutting off their supply lines. As Pink held on to their capital, a battalion of Browns finest planes would fly in and finish the job. With the total annexation of a whole continent, Brown would be the strongest military force in the world. Since the other nations were fighting amongst themselves, Brown and Kingly would be able to crush any remaining resistance, raising their flags with glee. And now, the people of Brown could finally eat bread in peace again.

I believe that every empire has a "range" of how far they can attack you, so most empires (even the larger ones) won't be able to attack you. But I guess you can change that with some little trolling (mods)

What you could do is ally the Grox (to get everyone to declare war on you) and then attack the Grox until they declare war on you.

I started a "pacifist run" for myself on Hard a while back, and I just finished civilization stage today. The idea is to never kill or destroy any cells, creatures, vehicles, or buildings throughout the game. During play, I also added the requirement not to let my own creatures die in creature and tribe stage (probably died a lot in cell stage though, I forget), and also to try to ally with every creature on the continent in creature stage (but eventually got bored and figured I had gotten almost everyone). The main trick is to hope an economic city spawns in reach of your starting religious city, capture it, and go full economic from there (so as to avoid destroying enemy vehicles with religious attacks, and to better fit the theme of making everyone your friend). Diplo Dervish is a must if the other civs on your continent start to get antsy. It was quite an interesting challenge! Now to see how far I can take it in space stage...

I considered doing a Pacifist run but I considered capturing an Economic city as Religious as still "attacking" them. Maybe an exception could be made for this because everything else could be done pacifist and would make a cool video!

@@KinglyValenceYou can technically do it. A civilization stage tribe can gift you a vehicle, Which can be Economic. Requires some saving and reloading though

@@JacquimoGaming That requires attacking/destroying a tribe to get a free Econ tank. Still not perfectly pacifist but likely the least amount of attacking required to complete the rest of Civ.

Civilization stage has always been my favorite stage too. I love creature stage, because i get to play as my creature and make it stronger and all, but the civ stage is really fun to just play.

Amazing video. When said civ stage is your favorite I believe you. You seem so passionate. Like spores isn't really some crazy RTS like some game are. but its really fun and your self imposed challenges are cool. I enjoy civ stage too, but I'm not so interested like you are. But its really fun to watch. And always have internal monologue going when I play civ stage so I relate even to you explaining what's happening. Maybe I'll do more stuff with civ stage. there are mods too wonder if there are good civ stage ones.

Fun fact: AI nations have their own money in civ stage, meaning if you capture all the spice a nation holds, destroy their factories, and continue to blow up any vehicles that spawn, eventually they won't be able to rebuild at all.

would it be difficult to win as economic with only one of each type of vehicle (no more than 1 tank, 1 boat, and 1 airplane in play at the same time)?

Economic cities are generally liked more than other city types by the AI cities and with 3 vehicles, this means that there are 3 potential trade routes to improve relations or 2 to capture spice and 1 for trade routes. It would be a lot easier to calm the other cities down, though it would be harder to defend.

It wouldn't be difficult. As long as you make sure no nation is ever angry at you, you can just wait until one NPC nation takes over all other rival cities, and then start setting up trade routes and slowly buy out the NPC nation. (In fact, that's exactly what I had to do in my very recent economic civilization playthrough)

I beg U men. Make more of those 🙏 Just one civ challenge video is not enough. I want to see more challenging, not glitchy speed-run like type of playthrough with economic nation (Oh and just for U to know beating civilization stage by economic-military-religious nation when U leave all cities specialization and use newest city characteristics to gain next city is a option that I love to do). This challenge is so fun to watch. I know there are no many spore fans left those days, but men U doing great job making those videos to us ❤ I love this game so much that I even forgive EA for cutting all that amazing content from beta and beyond. This is still one of my favorites games of all time so they hold enough imo. Just creature creator is very fanny tool, but together this is something that no other company behind Maxis made to this day. Evolution creator on that scale I mean. I love those editors. I make my own creations every year with breaks. I spend most of my play time in spore in creators so watch new funny way to play my favorite civilization stage is so amazing. Thank you! Civilization Stage is also my favorite Stage, and I love how different Civ is to the rest of the Stages were the AI Nations can actually have a big impact on the run and make a good story. Whereas the other Stages is very much just our cell/creature/tribe/spaceship going to other places to interact with other species. But in Civ other Nations can come to us and interact with each other!

Played this myself. Definitely a rough start, though it was really fun to see how you can essentially dominate the continent starting from such a bad place. I went with Lavender first, as they often times dominated the eastern continent, and that took Pink's eye away from me as I got the "attacked our enemy" bonus. By the end I had a giant plane armada and absolutely demolished the western continent. Ended with Pink surrendering their last city. Really fun. :)

It could get very, very tedious, but a minimum constructs challenge for civ stage could be interesting. The idea is minimizing how many things you build (buildings and vehicles) while still winning - like fewest jumps in a Mario game. You would of course be able to keep buildings on conquered cities - you didn't build them after all. I'd be curious to see what constraints like that do to civ stage. Can you manage with only starting constructs via diplomacy, or do you need a minimum army / fleet?

The glitch with spamming vehicle projectiles is so funny to me. Imagine your enemy blinking for a second and suddenly 20 projectiles fly their way x) I've been wondering something. I've always wondered how to backup my save data efficiently. Seeing the .zips on your Drive folder, I guess that just backing up that "Spore" galaxy folder is enough? Or is there stuff somewhere else, too? Thanks in advance ^^

Spore has 3 file locations, one for the "game" files in Steam/Program Files, locally saved creations in My Documents > My Spore Creations, and the galaxy folder for saved games in Roaming > Spore. All downloaded creations go in the Pollination folder in the galaxy file but all creations saved in game are in the documents one. Saving both the Spore related folders documents and roaming folders should cover everything :)

In my world I accidentally let green get too big and now I only own two cities (neither can spawn boats and obviously no planes) while green has like a million planes flying around and the only thing stopping them from killing me is that we're allies. But I don't know how to buy cities and the closest city has a million planes that I can't hit and my turrets do nothing.

Are you playing this challenge map or from your own game? If from your own game are you playing as Military/Religious/Economic? Best strategy from here for Military/Religious is to stock up a bunch of money before attacking to always have reinforcements ready and replace turrets, and attack the least defended city first to gain more cities easier. What abilities do you have from previous Stages? I didn't have abilities in this video but using those will help. The struggle is basically to get 4 cities to unlock airplanes then it should be a lot easier! Make sure to save often to retry sections :)

Yes and you get a special badge for it. But they have 2400 systems and over 5000 planets, some of which are very well fortified. So it's really not worth it since at minimum you're looking at maybe two or three dozen hours.
