The art direction in this game reminds me of high school art students that only ever draw anime, even though they aren't very good at it

This actually looked fun but I bet learning these card games was rough. From how you spent 2 hours on one match I'd expected a higher difficulty rating, but I guess the early game with the highlighting are easier.

I learned Koi Koi by playing a game on the PS4 called Sakura Wars, it made a little sense when I got used to it. Its kinda like Poker where you have to match up certain cards based on a certain criteria

Gambling became illegal in Japan in 1907, so in order to get around that, companies, including Nintendo, made these cards, and because they had no numbers on them and they were sold as collectibles, they were legal to sell. But yeah they just made up new rules in order to play cards and gamble with them

Hanafuda is actually a workaround of Western card games, which were, until the Imperial bans, SUPER popular in Japan. Let me just say that, if the people that ran things like The World Series of Poker, World Poker Tour, Epic Poker League, High Stakes Poker, etc.were able to go through time, and introduce modern technology to that particular era of time, then they would have a whole other untapped goldmine of poker talent
