Honestly, Jikkyō Powerful Pro Yakyū games are some of my favorite japanese exclusives played for this challenge. Combine an idea of a baseball RPG with some japanese wack and interesting situations, and it makes for a decently enjoyable time. Too bad they don't have english translation, I'm sure they would've been a lot of fun.

They just put out a game on the Nintendo Switch for a DOLLAR, called WBSC eBaseball Power Pros, which is this game play but I guess it's meant to be played mostly online? It literally comes with no teams, you have to create them yourself, and the only players available are from a small pool of characters that I guess have been in previous Power Pro games in Japan. You can't create your own. It does allow you to play offline against the CPU, and the difficulty spike is absurd (on Easy I won like 40 - 6, and then on Normal I got beat like 12 - 3), BUT it's the first Power Pro game in North America since those ones for the Wii, so... it was worth a buck.

I think it still is in japan. And will be in the west if konami localize it. Success mode is not the only worth mode anymore. Now they have pawafes and eikan 9 which is very popular in jp.

I have been playing the 2014 version of PowerPros on PS3. These games are really good. Besides the stats players have like abilitiy traits from what I have learned from other menus that also make it a better player. I really loving it.

I had to come back after my comment from last week… I had mentioned not being very interested in and engaged with some of the videos due to them being sequels or annual updates, especially with the sports games. I had then followed up to say that this was compounded by another seeming retread when this game was randomly generated. But after all that, I have to give you props because I really enjoyed this video. Excellent dialogue and the video was well edited. MLB Power Pros on PS2/Wii has same success mode and is full english. Unfortunately they haven't done one with that depth since... though just recently for first time (on PS5?) they released WBSC eBaseball: Power Pros on PS4/PS5/Switch for dirt cheap (but don't think it has success story mode)

This is a dope series and it’s actually clutch cause I recently downloaded an N64 emulator and was unsure what games were out there besides the ones I grew up playing. This lets me see the games and decide if I am interested enough to download the ROM or not. Also: anyone have any good N64 emulator recommendations? I am currently using Project64 but it’s very buggy and unstable and now there’s this pop up every time you open it up and you can’t do anything for like 60 seconds except read that they want you to donate to the devs.

Yeah if konami localize the newest game it probably will be considered best sport game in recent year. The franchise is just in a weird position. No one called it rpg in jp or jrpg fan in the west consider it a rpg. It does not have enough writing to be consider as a visual novel either. But the newest one have one of the most innovating game modes in sport game (feel very realistic despite have an arcade look). Imo it the best franchise from konami and the number in jp kinda speaks for itself. It outsold and was viewed as better game than mario baseball titles in jp.
