Thick Brush- no problem. I take a new Seppi Flail mower into impenetrable Conditions to see how it would perform.

This is what I've been looking for for trail work. It fits that sweet spot between a forestry head and a brush hog on on a tractor.

Stan, that SeppiM is an awesome machine! The person who might be able to help with pasture work, would be Josh, the Stoney Ridge Farmer. Heck, I think your daughter and he could have a meeting of the minds, and both walk away, having leaned from each other. I think it's really cool what your kids are doing! Trying to educate themselves about their environment and improving upon it.

I have a FRONT mounted Rammy brush cutter on my Honda 420 Rancher which works like a champ. IT's limited to about 3/4" thick brush but it works just fine for my application. It's powered by a Briggs and Stratton gasoline engine which is plenty powerful for knocking down tall grasses and smaller bushes. The cost was around $6K for all the add on's like a side cutting offset kit and larger hammers. It fastens on to my ATV using the under mounted snow plow mounts and raises and lowers using the winch. They also make front mounted mowers and snowblowers which I'm saving up for in the near future. Thanks for sharing Stan and I hope your daughter heals up soon. ps: The Rammy is made in Finland.

I hate wearing heavy shoes because its wears me out while walking and its super hot where I live. Also because of work (week long festivals at random ranches) I have to have both protection, tons of ventilation, and reasonable lack of fatigue. I've tried all the heady hiking sandals, and unless you are more in the water than out, the KEEN newport (or similar) is the way. Usually last about 1-2 seasons for 90 bucks, they have a heavy toe portion, are airy so it feels sandal like, but wears almost like a normal crosstrainer shoe after its broken in.

I learned the same way but I was on a 125 Honda 3 wheeler and I bumped a tree fell over and knocked my tooth out. I had tennis shoes on and not boots that caused my heal to slip off the break and now I only have boots on when I ride. But I was also like 10 and on the most dangerous atv known to exist but my dad knew I had to learn lol

It’s knapweed, we have it in Albany county ny! Takes over entire hayfields if you don’t spray it out without a specific chemical. Cows and horses won’t eat it if it’s in the bale. It’s like 10,000 seeds per plant.
@lordchaa1598
@lordchaa1598 Жыл бұрын
We call it choke weed. It’s a nuisance and the seeds are in the roots so you’re correct, only poison will kill it. I had it nearly wipe out an entire Tea field this year, had to cut them down to 6 inches and then hand spray to avoid killing my tea. It took 3 weeks by hand to tackle a 5 acre field. Add in some Virginia creeper and poison ivy and we’re talking the things of nightmares. Edit: I was referring to something different then napweed, though we did have our fair share of them as well. It’s been a horrible year for weeds in the Mideast
@Dirtmonkey
@Dirtmonkey Жыл бұрын
How do you eliminate it without using toxic chemicals?
@stackshouse
@stackshouse 11 ай бұрын
@@Dirtmonkey I’m not sure, we’ve always just sprayed it every few years to keep it at bay, cutting it also helps to an extent, but doesn’t eliminate it. I saw someone else mention vinegar mixture farther below, I wonder how that would work

Stan, do you still have this mower in your possession? I'm in the Twin Cities south metro area and I have some nasty bushes that line two edges of my residential property. Could I hire you to come over and drive that thing along the edges of my property??? I'm roughly 16 miles straight west of your shop. Not far from the MOA.
