Y’know the show? Just imagining Ash running into a green haired trainer that leads with a shiny Mareep. Battle follows the regular formula of the show and it looks like Ash is gonna beat the Mareep with his trusty Pikachu- Only for the green haired trainer to switch out the battered pink sheep for a level 50 (something) Dragonite that towers over the electric rat. Oh how is Pikachu and Ash gonna beat this one you may ask? They don’t- The green haired trainer uses this switch to spam use any and every sort of medical item they have on the pink sheep before sending it back into battle. This continues on with the cycle repeating a bit much to the confusion of Ash and whatever companions he has this time around. Only to finally end when the Mareep faints. Now they think the real battle is about to start against the green haired trainer’s remaining high leveled team, only for the green haired trainer to run off saying something about “Not having anymore revives.” Alternatively- Green Haired Trainer continues to fight with the rest of their team but is still beaten by Ash & Pikachu. Not because the electric rat wins the battles, but because the remainder of the green haired trainer for some reason doesn’t listen to them, save for the ghost crocodile.

the difference between Cupcake and Candy is astounding, in Cupcakes case Dan never had to switch to a different pokemon (apart from Wedding Cake which was a special circumstance regarding a double battle), meanwhile Candy will just go down in one hit and will only win because of sandstorm. As I remember, a Pokemon's friendship falls each time it faints, and gets slightly less back for healing. That mareep is going to hate him by the end of this game.

Fun fact about the olive roll minigame for the bug Gym Test: You can ride Koraidon/Miraidon during that. And with some finagling, you can straight-up ignore the fences that way. I did that entirely by accident when I played! :D EDIT: dear god I can't believe I got my types mixed up here and put *grass* instead of bug.
