I used to do 200 pushups at work every day, just took a few minutes of break and did as many as i could. I ended up being able to do 60 pushups in one go. You might think that co-workers believe that you are crazy, but in the end they will respect you for doing your thing and the discipline. Anyways, you should not care about what people think, even if it' difficult to ignore.

Follow up: So I've learned alot about pushups since first watching this video. I'm not sure what you'd call those 5 things i did, a few times, that day, but it was not an official push up. But I found a "beginner's push ups" video here on KZbin that really helped me. So I'm using a chair of a counter or something about 2 feet off the ground to do push ups from. And I'm doing 10 reps, twice a day, 5 days a week for now. I'm working to build my upper body strength, and hope to do a set of "real"push ups soon! This video was my inspiration!! Starting from where I'm at, doing what I can to get in shape, feels great!!

Beating the enemy within. I love that! I did just that. 18 month I have been going to the gym. I’m 50lb down and actually have biceps showing. I have another 20lb-ish to go. I am often the only girl in the large gym area where all the blokes are and yes I am now that confident to do that. I feel fabulous. I’m working on cardio stuff and mixing it up more so heart rate is up and down. I love listening to you. You always have a nugget of wisdom. Peace and love!😍

I was a skinny teenager, and I started working out at 17, with a bench in my basement. After 6 months, I ran into some friends and they could not believe how big I was. I got very strong. Since then I've always been more concerned with cardio health. I run on an elliptical and do pushups. For a middle aged guy, I don't have blood pressure or clogged arteries. I stay a lot thinner than most guys in their late 40s. Most diabetic American men like to say "I'm a big man", but they're really just fat" big, wide rear end and narrow shoulders. They just need to start walking the block, then start jogging the block, then a mile, etc. The weight will start falling off.

Hey neighbor. I’m in Ft. Myers, FL. You’re so right. I was thin until I got to my mid 30’s. Raising kids, working long hours, etc. lead to the pounds creeping on. Then, throw on the love of candy & sweets- I was gone. In 2016 I became an avid runner (loved running for hours) & I lost weight (only focused on calories in vs out) but stopped running to work a 2nd job (my son is @ university). Starting eating all the crap again. In 2022 I lost 69lbs (204 to 135) but this time I learned about nutrition (carbs & sugar). It’s amazing how much bad food is around us. Healthy nutrition & movement is key. Sure, a treat is fine occasionally. Love your videos!!

2:02 YES! I'm so thankful, as a woman, that I was a competitive swimmer at 16 & 17. I worked out a ton. I gained 18# of muscle in 1 season, along with 6 pk abs and my waist to hip ratio is perfect. One thing I noticed that I didn't want was big shoulder/neck muscles that some female swimmers developed. I guarantee all those laps and flip turns have helped me my entire life. I'm 41 now and have had 1 baby, I'm still 5'8" and 125 lbs., my 6 pack abs helped me through pregnancy at 34 yrs old, had a c section and bounced right back by nursing my baby for 15 months. I love my body, but hate my back. Back gave out at 19, thank God I've never been overweight. Neurosurgeons like that I'm physically fit and trim. My back is 100% genetic and not due to any injury or being overweight. Women wonder how I have a fit body that looks like I'm 21 when I'm 41... it's from being a competitive swimmer 🏊♀️

I think you're going to escape the usual "unfit diseases" that plague so many of us after 40. You're a real inspiration and a testimony to what " defeating the enemy within" looks like. I did kind of chuckle at the part of the story where you shared about your dad giving one dumbbell to your brother, and one to you. I didnt want to accept the metaphor there, but your dad might have had a point. " Control thy dumbbell, and you wont BE the dumbell". Your dad was a smart guy. Thanks, Joey.

I need to work harder - motivating video

I'm typically on a fairly high dose of anti d's and I've occasionally come off them for reasonably long periods of time, exercise, nutrition and the meds are the ideal combination but I can honestly say with a high amount of certainty that the nutrion and the exercise are by far superior to the meds. I cannot function without my weight training regardless of how much meds I'm taking. It's not a matter of 'I feel proud of myself' because I seldom do but it has a deep neurological affect that is completely separate from whether you hate yourself or not. Its fundamental. Most people will experience crippling depression and it can often stem from a specific vitamin deficiency, ie zinc or vitamin d. If you're at your whits end and wondering "why aren't the meds working, am I doomed to feel this way forever?" Please for the sake of everyone who loves you, try and sort your diet out for a couple of months and see if you feel any better.
