Horrible experience but it was worth it.
So why exactly is this map so hard if this run didn't even look too bad?
Almost any round required good aircraft carrier/flagship rng (starting the round on a different time will make the miniplanes go somewhere else - you cant predict where - so you had to retry very often until you got the right timing.)
As you might have seen in the intro or somewhere else the carrier flagship has a bug that makes it spawn 3 planes every time you press "retry last round." Of course this bug wouldn't hurt and make the map way easier but obviously the BTD6 Maplist banned this bug from list completions. The problem we had was not knowing what caused the bug (we still don't know) and therefore coudln't avoid it. Because some runs did not get the bug for some reason I pretty much just prayed I wouldn't get it either so I just tried the map over and over again. Keep in mind just getting to the carrier flagship already takes hours and then getting the bug can be very depressing.
After Katabu figured out you can just not buy a second dart monkey on round 8 it became free in comparison to before. Here's how skipping one dart monkey made this so much easier:
Not buying that dart monkey allows you to buy a sniper which is just so good on this map and allows you to not buy a cape and the second aircraft carrier/destroyer. For example beating round 28/30 required a 020 sub and 220 boat but just a 101 sniper was enough. Then the sniper also just pretty much solos 32-39. Now where not getting the sniper really backfired were rounds 33-45. You see, originally you had to buy both camo potions on round 33 to defend both sides what leaves you with only one camo potion on round 45, where you had to defend camos on both sides again. In my old runs I just bought a 002 super monkey which costs around 4.5k Since you only had to use one camo potion on 33 and could rush 402 boat instead of 420 you could easily defend 45 without any more upgrades. At this point you saved around 17k and if you played the midgame a little more optimised you could get the carrier flagship on round 59. It goes further though. Not having flagship before round 63 forces you to spend more money on Geraldo items until round 69 if you played very well or round 73 if you did not. Now after all these rounds you could finally get the upgrade only to get the bug. I think you can imagine how painful this was. The funny part is that the new early game was way easier, the midgame wasn't bad as well and you never get the flagship bug for some odd reason.
SHORT: Getting the sniper prevents the flagship bug from happening and saves you like 18k dollars
