Stunning. Even more so when you realise the composers of this wonderful music never spent a minute in a music academy. Their music was composed in a suburban kitchen in Liverpool. The 1960s was the most extraordinary times.

Eleanor Rigby : Such a wistful, reflective song. She was a real person, and is buried at St. Peter's Parish Church Woolton Merseyside, England. Legend has it that this is where John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met Strawberry Fields was a Salvation Army children's home in Liverpool, in which grounds John Lennon used to play as a child.
@andrewmorton9327 Жыл бұрын
She was a real person but the song wasn’t about her. Paul didn’t find out about her grave until after he recorded the track. He actually made the name up to fit the number of syllables needed for the scansion.

Yes friend Georges Martin est le cinquième beatles dans l'ombre ,les gamins lui donnaient du vrac et... lui en faisait une oeuvre...
@anthonyromagnole2807 Жыл бұрын
I have read that Martin considered himself a facilitator. He said most of the time he was just following what the Beatles asked him to do. But I agree that he is the fifth Beatle. He did influence them and made creative suggestions. Spector, on the other hand, made changes to Let It Be without consulting the Beatles, which infuriated Paul, in particular. That is why a "Naked" version was released later.

No doubt about it. He's gotten a lot of credit--but surely not enough. He was a huge part of the band's distinctive, original music.

@Struwwel24 ай бұрын
On Strawberry Fields specifically, Martin truly was. The lads had recorded two versions of the song, but John Lennon wasn't satisfied with either. He asked Martin if he could combine them somehow, which irritated Martin to no end. It seemed Lennon just blithely expected him to work miracles. And then he worked a miracle. He realized one of the tracks was half a tone sharp compared to the other, and a little faster. So he slowed it down until the two matched. That's why the recorded version has such a thick, languidly dreamy sound.

@noah smith all bands that you said were incredibly, we can say "once in a lifetime". But, not for belittle them, the Beatles are the "one in a Epoch", they change all. I'll explain you, with 1 Fact, i use one band that you said, Pink Floyd (I idolize theme),their first knowed record is from '67. The beatles write Tomorrow Never Knows in '66. They are pioneer in psychedelic too. I can continue al day, but the point is, they invent OUR music, other bands evolve from that and gives us an university of melodies that all we love. The beatles were the Big Bang of that.

noah smith yeah, there are really good artists but I mean if people see one of them in public is there going to be a crowd with hundreds of people chasing after them at full speed?
