Love how Ringo gets himself and his set ready just in time for when he needs to come into the song. He's not rushing, looks so natural. HDN is a great album, every song is a keeper. They really were starting to hit their stride as writers with this album. And the movie is so much fun. Their personalities were infective as was their sense of humor. They didn't even seem to be acting, just being themselves. I was seven years old and was already a huge fan. For my birthday in April of '64 my parents got me the "Meet the Beatles" album and I got every one of their albums when they came out. I was so enamored with them that I didn't want to listen to any other music for a while because I felt I wouldn't be true to them, lol. Posters all over the walls of my bedroom. And I'm still as big a fan at almost 63 years old as I was at seven. Beatles forever! Peace and love and good health to everyone out there.

I was born in ‘63 became a fan in 1970 and grew up during the post breakup years, the solo albums, and the ‘will they get back together?’ I have always wondered what it would have been like to have been that age in 1964 and experienced it first hand.

I was born in 2010 so unfortunatly I missed out on all the beatlemania by a long shot (40 years :/) . The first song I knew by the beatles was Yellow Submarine which I liked quite a lot. My mum and dad were born in 1970 so they also missed out ..and are also somehow not really beatles fans (they appreciate the music I suppose, but wouldn't be willing to listen to it for hours ,on repeat ,all day everyday! :) Anyway so I had to find the beatles myself, which I did basically 2 years ago, and now I will never stray again! I just discovered this song and I couldn't tell you how happy I am even though I've just been crying nonstop for an hour! Also by the way can I just say that this and also other beatles music videos (paperback writer, hello, goodbye, help ect) are quite obviously the best of all time. And even though today we might have all the fancy camera technitions, effects, costumes and scripts for our music videos the same love doesnt emminate from them like from the beatles. And last thing for any people who are just discovering the beatles now and are overwhelmed or don't know where to start I suggest starting with the songs you know and love and listening to them. Then later maybe you'll accedently click on the wrong song and start listening to it and discover that you love this one too. So then you'll start listing to this one a lot, but then maybe one day someone will reccomend a song to you or you'll just randomly here it and then you'll add that one to your now evergrowing repotoire of great beatles songs. Anyway all that is to say, take it slowly. I think the almost absolute best feeling in the whole world (except for maybe falling in love yourself...) is discovering a 'new' beatles song that you've never heard of before. And one more thing and then i'll stop - if you don't really like a beatles song when you first hear it i suggest from my experience to come back to it at a later time. It might be tomorrow or next month or in a few years or a decade or whatever. Just come back and you'll be in a different state of mind then you were when you first were listening to it and will propably love it then. (and if you still dont love it then leave it and come back to it again. And then after that if you stilll don't love the song , then i'm sorry but I can't help you :( Thank you John, George, Ringo and Paul, my life really wouldn't be the same without you, thank you for making the world an even better place. God bless you all!

This is one of those many songs The Beatles did in which both parts of harmony are singing a melody. It's something The Beatles did in many of their songs that is completely extraordinary IMHO!! One of my fav Beatle songs!!

Heard this today on radio in my van. Made me almost stop. So beautiful. Reminds me of my late brother Mark who was 7 years older than me , who loved the Beatles. I do however have his original LP’s that he bought in the 60’s.. #memories rip brother

Such a wonderful time in my life, I still remember the day that I was setting watching the Ed Sullivan Show and he introduces for the first in the USA on TV, the Beatles. Changed my life forever. And still to this day I listen to their music and sing along and know most every word to every song.. Just an old hippie, peace, freeyourmind.

John and Paul: the really perfection

A sense of melancholy comes over me when I hear these old songs. Twentieth century music by English speaking nations will likely never be repeated. There's a sense of sadness and loss with fond memories, bitter sweet.

@Dan Page Good link. Thanks. When a famous musician from the 1960s was asked why music was not being made today he simply said "talent". The lack thereof was his meaning. Smart phones, Nintendo and other distractions rob the youth of mastering musical instruments and other pursuits. American culture is very shallow now. This is especially sad for older people like me who knows what's been lost. Television stations stopped broadcasting shortly after the 11pm news in most places when I was young. Manners and politeness were second nature. Talking back to my grandparents was something I didn't even consider. Things weren't perfect but society has regressed. That's what I mean by feeling loss and sadness. I was brought up with Christian values, love of country, and family. Powers that be have convinced many that this is abnormal. Very strange world we have today. My advice is to avoid anxiety, be happy, and trust the God of Abraham and Jesus. God bless you and your family.

I think this is probably the most perfect song I have ever heard. I am not saying it is the best song ever, as there are so many fantastic songs from the Sixties onwards, but perfect in structure, melody, harmonies and memories of the best band in the world.

Agree , and this was when they were in their early 20,s ! Unbelievable. One year later they recorded songs like " norwegian wood " , " in my life " and " nowhere man " . They changed the face of music.
@Jono29054 жыл бұрын
@@tjvanpopta Yes, the emotional maturity, if that is the right expression, is staggering, much as I feel about Dylan (as you mention Norwegian Wood!).
