Trying to imagine the look on the young Beatles' faces, if you told them, their songs would be played by folks in Central Park, like this, nearly 60 years later. Wonderful.

When I was in New York, my wife and I went to visit the John Lennon memorial. As we made our way up the approaching path we could hear Beatles songs being sung and guitars playing in the distance. It was one of those moments when the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.

This is adorable. One of my fave songs by The Beatles. Being born an bred in Liverpool myself i'm so proud to be from the same city where the boys are from. I visted NYC 4 years ago and was fortunate enough to visit John's memorial on 8th December the anniversary of his passing . Come to Liverpool, you will love it. Peace

I really hope you do too! I literally work about 30 seconds away from the house Brian Epstein lived in (Rodney Street, Liverpool) and the old hospital were John was born (Oxford street).. Get on a tour.. Plenty of free Beatles stuff to see.. Penny Lane, Strawberry Field (no S!), lots of pubs where the Beatles first played.. Pity you couldn't look me up, I could give you a bloody tour hahaha @@thebeatlesnyc

I'm 75 but when I was 14 and in 6th hour art class (61 years ago) someone left a Parade magazine on my desk, and in it was an article about the Beatles (!!!!) who were coming to America and would appear on the Ed Sullivan show in 3 days. I was excited; something about them was exhilarating and I made sure I didn't miss it. I loved their performance and it changed all our lives. This Memorial for John was loving and heartfelt, really got me.

I'm 74 and live in NYC. Starting 10 years after John Lennon died. I started going Central Park - Strawberry Fields. There were numerous very large groups of fans scattered all thru Central Park. While I never purposely set out to learn all the words, I did know every lyric to every song they wrote. What amazed me were people specifically there from countries all over the world. The feeling of everyone singing together was amazing. One of the most heart lifting things I ever did. I did see the Beatles perform in 66 in Boston. I will always be grateful to have been the age I am, to have the Beatles creating the soundtrack to my life
