This is great. I have so many old cassettes with endless recordings from old am and college radio broadcasts. And some old random TV recordings. Some of it's gritty, but the tape saturation and low end make it unique. And of course the shortwave I recorded on my boom box cassette recorder. Treasure trove.

Slow the beat down slightly and you have a groove that fits with the time of the sample's movement.. Probably quantize the backbeat (blocks) to tighten it up and it will be a nice sounding little track

dude you are an op-1 jedi. everything about how you make these videos is top of the line creativity and skill. i was wondering, when you are sampling(whether off an old record player or casette player) do you sample the sound directly into the mic, or is there a WIRE connecting into the op-1. i noticed the sample sounds are mighty clear. i want to also sample sounds off of youtube into the op-1, is that possible? thank you so much man!
@AccurateBeats6 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! A Jedi? Haha. I like that! Yeah, I line the audio source (turntable/ cassette deck) with a small jack cable (aux) straight into the input of the OP-1, the mic isnt that nice. Thats the cool thing about the OP1-1. ou could sample pretty much anything so... Run youtube off an iPhone or something and line that into the OP and just sample away! Thanks for watching!

can I ask something...I thought the OP1 could only sample for 12 seconds in total, you sampled 3 separate times, on 3 separate tracks.. and in total that would have been much more than 12 seconds sampling time, how is that done or am I mistaken about 12 seconds in total..?
@AccurateBeats8 жыл бұрын
fiddlestickz muzik no, you're right about the 12 seconds but that is 12 sec per sample. The Oå-1 can hold a lot of samples in the internal memory, those samples can be recalled just like on any sampler. On the front panel you have 8 different "sound slots". All of these can be sampled into so there you have 12x8 plus all the samplea you can save and load. The total internal storage space is 256MB i think... if you erase all the stock sounds you can store a lot of samples :) Hope that was of any help, thanks for watching!
@fiddlestickzmuzik8 жыл бұрын
Accurate Beats ahhh cool so I can sample up to 12 seconds per slot and there are 8 slots...sweet that is going to work for me then..thanks.

Hî, thanks for your very nice video. Do you think op-1 could be attached as master to the arp odyssey module?
@AccurateBeats6 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Thats actually a hard question.i know the OP-1 can split the audio out and send a clock for sync. I don’t know if that will work with the arp odyssey though. It can also send midi through the mini ISB but Im afraid I cant can’t really give you a proper answer here. Thanks for watching!

@AccurateBeats7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! You mean in order to sync the sequencer? hmmm... I guess so. The USB spits out midi CC's and note values. The latest update also enables the OP-1 to send clock sync to the Pocket Operators or anything Volca... I've never tried to sync it over midi like that though.
