Pretty cool, I don't know who invented the term " Lofi" but it's really the J Dilla(RIP) sound which he pioneered in detroit.

@@sebastianfernandez6146Yeah man Dilla did not make LoFi at all, he was known to hip hop heads for having hard hitting drums more so than wonky experimental shxt which he really released separately as instrumental tapes for that reason. But artists went to him to have some shxt to rap over that would knock coming out a trunk. Slum Village was liked for hard hitting drums and laid back vibes.

The biggest question I have is are there parameters that can be adjusted per sample or beat? Like can I take a sample with a good kick and isolate the kick and add effects? I just don't want something that limits me to whatever samples are loaded and all you can do is compress, chop, or pitch.

You can sample things you plug in the line input (so if you plug your phone, you can sample anything from KZbin or any website). You have several effects you can choose from, and you can resample what you make, so that allows you to stack several effects if you want to completely transform your sound

Is the LoFi 12 at all comparable to the Volca Sample? I already have a bunch of Volcas so that’s why I was originally gonna go with that, but the sound on the LoFi 12 seems more malleable than on the Sample. This would be my first Sampler other than cutting up Wav files and trying to mess around that way. But Dilla has always been in my top 3 producers so it would be cool to get this kind of sound without having to go with an MPC of some sort that costs exponentially more lol.

I'd say they are similar but the lofi-12 seems more advanced. It's easier to write melodies and just play it as an instrument, it's easier to record this from you phone quickly,... Or maybe that's just my personal preference 🤔

Can it record unquantized? If not, can each track me controlled by different midi channels from external sequencers ?

I don't think it can record unquantized, but there's a laid-back knob to offset the rhythm, and you can automate that to be a different value on each step

You can have one filter per track + one effect per track + one effect on the master. Then you can resample to stack effects
