This is going to teach me to scratch with my right hand. This is excellent. Doesn't anybody else have that issue? Bad ambidexterity with scratching?

Bro was like, "here is a basic scratching tutorial." (Begins scratching as if he is possessed by the swag Gods...goes completely unconscious...) Bro then was like...welp...hope you enjoyed that!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 hell yea we enjoyed that!!! Pretty sure you did to. Your eyes rolled into the back of your head so yea... haha great vid for real! Been practicing my scratching and this was for real a MONEY explanation. I get the concept, just need to ram it in my brain and keep practicing. I keep telling myself the cross fader correlation is an illusion...but you showed me today it is not. For chirps, your crossfader should mirror your scratch motion! Very valuable lesson! Thank you!!! Cheers!

That combo he's doing when he speeds up is definitely not just a simple baby scratch chirp combo. There's a double bounce motion going on when the fader hits. Sounds more like a swing flare imo.

the swing flare is different than the baby chirp. swing flare is baby, stab, stab with a constant back and forth on the record. nice video tho;)

Ok at first he's doing the baby scratch & chirp but at the end when he speeds up it's not the baby scratch & chirp combo he's added scratches to it like flares.
@RCutOffakavEM
@RCutOffakavEM 6 жыл бұрын
Well...He actually did the baby+original flare combo. Not the baby+chirp. If he did the baby+chirp combo the accents of the scratch combo would be different in relations to a beat. But then he did the swing flare...which starts with a closed fader
@shinyless
@shinyless 8 жыл бұрын
Misleading... At first you show a baby + chirp combo, then when speeding it up you do a swing flare, wich is a 2-click based combo.

Is Deejaying hard to learn? I really want to learn scratching and use it for some songs. I don't want to be a master at doing this, but I want to make some songs more interesting without sounding like a complete beginner, you know?
@moonahmed8084
@moonahmed8084 8 жыл бұрын
Very few can be masters lol. Deejaying is easier than ever to learn thanks to all the technological advances like serato, and other computer software that makes stuff such as beat matching super easy. To a degree it's like playing any other instrument, practice practice practice. I would say realistically you can be decent enough to do some beginner to intermediate scratches and put together for combos/sets in 6 months if you spend a load of time on it. Beat matching similarly if you start to understand BPMs and why a dj is constantly adjusting the pitch on a turntable you will start to figure it out. Doing it is 1 thing but being good/great at it comes with practice. It just depends on the amount of hours you put in to understand. ultimately you need to understand the hardware, and sound. One of the challenges I think for beginners is being able to have the ability to distinguish two different sounds and blend them together in an artistic way whether scratches , breaks, new songs etc. Once you get the basics down everything will start to come together slowly with practice. Watch tutorials learn from great djs and don't pick up bad habits if you can.

Beat matching fairly easy. Scratching kinda hard but not super crucial in the type of music I do.

When’s he’s going Double / triple time, isn’t he using some stabs? Or does it sound like it because of scratch movement he’s doing with his record hand?

swing flare is not fast chirp+flares; its slice+dice. Its similar yeah, but that slight difference in sound and crossfader motion are what give you swing flare

how by those turtables? what type they are and like how much they cost?
@djkoz78
@djkoz78 7 жыл бұрын
Orochy Yagamy Technics 1200 Gold Standard last a lifetime, but very expensive even today, might be able to get some used cheaper. They just released new versions of the 1200 this year, but they're $2000 a piece. You can get turntables on par with Technics for much cheaper, look at Reloops, DENON, Roland, Dj Tech. Numark has very affordable direct drive tables. Only downside is the torque isn't as good as others but, as long as the record starts right as you drop it and holds a consistent rotation with little wow & flutter totally worth it especially if your new to deejaying.
