@@LizzieEstelle The surgery is called a septoplasty. The divider in your nose is called a septum, when it's "deviated" it's crooked or broken which blocks some air flow through your nose. The septoplasty is a procedure to straighten the septum to make it easier to breathe.

Hey Bea! Just wanna let you know that anesthesia can have depression as a side effect. Going under can mess up your brain chemistry for a few months. So it's totally normal to feel bouts of sadness after surgery

Then when everything was done and fine, I got Wendy's nuggets and a frosty on the way home! When I had COVID I was so pissed off at myself because I couldn't taste but still ate crap even when not hungry as if it still was for comfort. My brain knew what it was SUPPOSED to taste like so I guess it still gave a dopamine hit. I'm glad all went well with your surgery. Love the fashion show!

The main area of your body informing your food choices is your gut bacteria. The ones that need certain chemicals to live will demand more and more of those chemicals the more they reproduce. That's where cravings come from. So the more you feed those bacteria, the more you crave those foods. Your brain also gives a reward for "tastes good. lot of energy. fuck yeah" even if the food isn't very healthy (and just has a lot of calories). The tricky part is getting the bacteria and brain to agree on what to eat.

Heal...FIRST... Everything else can wait. Check with your trainer on scaling down, get exercises modified. Sure it was just the Celial cells that got attacked. They heal faster than most. Nerves take a while before they feel less jangled. Take care...Good to see you doing so well!

Good advice - ditto on healing first. Give yourself time to get back into the swing of things. Pre-Covid for me I was working out and haven’t found it again since October. I’m finally feeling like I could start adding it back to my schedule - work intensified and we are building a house as well as caring for our kids as well as typical life strain. It will get better.

I had my adenoids removed as well as a turbinate reduction in 2020 and it took me ALMOST A MONTH TO RECOVER FULLY. The surgeon told me 2-3 days after I would start feeling ok and that was not the case for me. I could barely get out of bed for a week straight, but also couldn't sleep. The meds made me EXTREMELY nauseous and dizy, when I didn't take them I was in agony. So that was fun. Couldn't eat easily because I couldn't breathe out my nose, soooo many blood clots in the saline rinses I had to do, also felt like I was constantly choking on spit. Called the office and the receptionists just told me that unless I was having shortness of breath I didn't need to worry. It was 2 weeks before I could actually breathe out my nose properly and was able to walk around and do normal things. Surgeon told me at my check up that it went really well and that unfortunately a tiny portion of people have as bad of a time as me during recovery lol. On the plus side after I fully recovered it's been the best decision I ever made. I can actually breathe out my nose when I lay down now. I hope your surgery was as successful and you can breathe like a champion too! ❤️

That sound miserable! My main issue was the stints and once those were out everything was tolerable. It sucks to find out your special but in an unfortunate way lol. Girl, I feel you. I had nose surgery on a deviated and perforated septum and lived on Ben and Jerry's and Chicken in a Biscuit crackers (do not recommend - basically just choked and gagged on that crumbly hot mess). The packing removal after a week was one of the grossest but best experiences of my life. Like angels descending from the heavens in a cloud of bloody slimy gauze.

So glad to hear your surgery went well! I'd imagine your sleep patterns will stabilize with getting good amounts of oxygen. And getting enough oxygen for working out as well! I breath pretty well but I swear my fiance has sleep apnea and it's terrible knowing someone you love can't sleep due to breathing issues. You should be so proud of yourself for getting this taken care of! Medical things are scary the older I get and it's so easy to put them off

And the goo suction post surgery was super gross.. they used like this gel to pack the area so it was like sucking red jello out. Super gross hahahahhaha

Lol, have the patient lean FORWARD (never backwards) and give him/her a paper towel (or something like that ) to soak up the blood till it stops. If it goes on for too long (idk longer than 45 min) seek help. I'm a river guide and every once in a while someone busts their nose and we have to provide first aid.

The stitch was nothing, it turned out to only be one lol, the shocking bit was how long the stint was, I thought it was tiny but it in fact was not. The good news is once that is taken out it was smooth sailing and being able to breathe is pretty awesome ngl. I understand the anxiety, I hate getting medical stuff done, I’m the biggest pansy alive and I survived, if that helps you in anyway lol😅😅💛

I started having abdominal pain and learned I need a gallbladder surgery to remove it since it has stones. I’m so discouraged myself because I could feel myself getting stronger with consistent workouts and until the surgery I can only just walk slowly on the treadmill and I’m guessing it’ll be a few weeks until I can work out again after :(

I was back to lifting at 4 weeks. Once you have the surgery you might notice an increase in energy and stuff...because gallbladder issues lead to all sorts of little problems. My surgery changed my life...not exaggerating.

I had thought about trying to keep it but I was literally eating only 3g of fat per 100 calories and still struggling so much. The surgeon told me genetics play a strong component because he’s taking out gallbladders from people ages 10-16 and not feel bad that it’s like I lived a poor lifestyle or anything. Definitely trying to drink a lot of water and move around every few hours!! Thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this you have no idea how much I appreciate it!!

@@spazzybear1025 I’m actually doing extremely well! I’m on Tramadol for pain and tolerating it well but I’m only taking half of the pills. I’ve been moving around okay and I do feel sore but overall ok. Not sure if tomorrow will be worse 😬 I think I did have one stuck for awhile because for days I was in really bad pain but I used a heating pad a few nights and I think i got the ducts to open up and let it through. But yeah I was only eating plain fish and plain rice- nothing fatty nothing acidic and I was still in pain it did need to go. Apparently they can also rupture/burst?? Like who knew? But I am glad I got it out when I did because I was starting to lose weight in a short period of time and my surgeon didn’t want me getting nutritionally/weak for surgery. Both my surgeon and my GI doc also think this may be my last resort “IBS” diagnosis issue all along so we are all hopeful that this has what was causing me issues for the past few years and didn’t know it. I can’t wait for a little EVOO and avocado 😂. And yes this definitely makes me feel less alone!!! This is our first surgery for my husband or I so it has been a scary experience but so far so good honestly. Care team was great!

I too have never gotten a nose bleed in my life, but my older sister used to get them ALL the time. I am a massive klutz who hits myself in the face frequently so it doesn't make sense that I haven't but here we are!

I got my first ever nose bleed last year while bawling my eyes out and it was the most surreal feeling ever. Like one moment I’m wiping snot and the next thing I know my tissue is stained red. This was at work but thankfully I was hiding because otherwise it would’ve been a demonic sight. Would not like to experience that again!

You sounded so cute while your nose was stuffed up ^_^. Girl I tried to warn you a few videos ago about how big those stints are! When they pulled them out of my face I couldn't believe how far back they were in my head O_O. I'm really excited for you to get to work out so you can see the crazy difference in how it feels to exercise when you can breathe! I was never able to exercise without getting a stitch in my side, but dang afterward I've not gotten one since the surgery (which was 8+ years ago). Also, love the neckline on that little black dress! You look fab!

Yikes I can’t imagine how awful it would feel to have something lodged up your nose for days on end. I could barely even get a Covid test lol but you’re a tough gal clearly. Also speaking of Covid - when I lost my taste I too continued to eat crap even though I couldn’t taste it which was also baffling to me lol I guess we just hoped the comfort food would make us feel a bit better! Thank you for talking about this. I am supposed to have the deviated septum surgery as well, but I just can't bring myself to schedule it and let someone cut into my face. I'm glad that you were honest about your expereince. I'd much rather someone tell me what to really expect versus, "Oh it was sooooo great and sooo easy and never hurt. I LOVED having giant pieces of plastic up my nose." Is it significantly easier to breathe now? I've been told by several people that they never knew how much they really couldn't breathe until after they had the surgery. How has your airflow improved? lolol

I don’t regret it at all but yeah was not expecting the sinus pressure and headaches, it definitely got worse as the days went on but instant relief when the stints were removed! My nose is still raw feeling on the inside but that passage is open for business! 10/10 recommend being able to properly breathe lol. I am looking forward to seeing how it increases my cardio game:) Good luck to you if you end up going through with it!💛💛💛

I was on vacation once and I got a cold and I couldn’t taste ANYTHING! however, I still HAD to have this bread pudding that was a million calories and I couldn’t even taste it. I had to have it though 🤣 Glad you seem to be recovering well!

I haven't watched the entire video yet. something caught my eye though that could be very dangerous. It looks like there is water seeping into the corner of the garage and underneath the gym mat? If so you need to bleach that area and wipe the mats down, front and back, with bleach water. Black mold is deadly and you breathing so deeply while working out, it is going straight into your lunges. Btw thanks for giving me the willpower to get my are moving. 🥰

Bea, don’t even worry about the setback after a week off after surgery. I had ankle surgery last summer and I’m still working on regaining my everyday strength. Progress isn’t linear and shit happens! 💗

Hey! FYI: I’ve been a military spouse for 18 years (I’m guessing you work for a contracted civilian company on a base-or something along those lines), and stuff ABSOLUTELY gets stolen on a secure base. Just a couple weeks ago someone cut a lock on a gym locker (on the base we’re currently stationed at) and stole a wallet. Some people get lured into a false sense of security on base, but it really doesn’t exist so just be aware! 😘
